Amazing that this tiny little lens can produce such a great picture, even in fairly low light. I didnt expect much from this lens to be honest. Autofocus is fast, low light performance is good, good sharpness and color (especially at center), but seriously...the weight to quality ratio is off the charts. This is the perfect casual all-day walk-around lens. Easy on the arms, back, shoulder, etc. And with its low profile, it is the perfect choice when you want to get quality pictures and 4k video without drawing too much attention. I use it on a Sony a7 iii. When shooting 4k video, I use the cameras crop-mode and clear zoom feature for a lot of "zoom" flexibility. I get a lot of use out of this little lens. :)

Other reviews Ive read said this isnt weather sealed, I dont know but keep this in mind. There is a firmware update available, not sure what it fixes, but you need to buy a Lens Station to load the update. It also allows you to set some autofucus settings and more with a program on their web site. Ive only used it a little but the auto focus seems to be good and Ill use it for some situations that I want a wide angle and the light weight will be a plus. Made in Korea if that matters to you.

This is a very affordable full frame lens. Im using it on a crop sensor, but really love the f stop on this bad boy! I plan on eventually getting a full frame so this will move to that kit.

Small form factor, very light, easy manual focus, fast autofocus. I really like this lens. I do a fair amount of street photography and this lens makes my full frame Sony less conspicuous. The real shock is how well it does with landscapes. Cannot believe the sharpness and color saturation for such a small lens. Highly recommend.

This lens is fantastic. Nearly as good as the $1k lenses I have used a fraction of the cost. I have an A7RII and the only thing this prime lens has difficulty with is some blurring at the extreme edges, easily cropped or adjusted.

Ive own the Zeiss version before. Then, decided a needed a "walk around" compact lens for my a7III, so I went to look at the Zeiss again and saw the Samyang. After reading multiple reviews that said "as good, maybe better," I decided to give it a test drive and return it if I didnt like it. I believe it is as good as the Sony/Zeiss version. At this price, its scary good.

Holy moly! What an amazing lens! For the price you pay you get quite the capable lens! I took it out to for test run shooting long exposures and night photography and, while it struggled a bit with AF, it kept up with my expectations. (Focus peaking helps, too.) Great details even in the dark. Surprisingly sharp! I used to shrug off Samyang/Rokinon lenses. Boy, was I a fool. Ive been researching their other lenses and am finding more and more reason to invest in their products.

Kept this lens attached to my Sony A7ii exclusively in Oahu on vacation. Colors and sharpness were great with good low light capabilities at night (F2.8). Wide enough for indoor family shots. focus speed was more than fast enough for general travel photography. Considerably cheaper than the Zeiss 35 F2.8.

I bought this after a lot of research weighing the pros and cons versus the Zeiss lens and so far I’ve been very happy with the decision. The lens is super sharp, focuses quickly, and (most importantly) provides an ultra compact package when paired with a Sony mirrorless camera. Because of that added convenience, I definitely find myself bringing the camera along more often and have been getting more great shots as a result.

I used this samyang 35mm on my A7iii for couples of months, it works perfect except toward the bright light! First, Its so tiny that you can just put it in your pocket and go shoot some photos and it looks pretty suitable for the A7 series mirrorless camera. Also, the picture quality is as good as the FE 35mm from sony, but in the situation that you shoot toward the bright light, the edges will become purple, which many lens have this issue. However, in the right brightness, right angle, we can still shoot good picture with this 35mm len.
