I dont think this is 100% distortion free, but Ive never felt the need to fix it in post, and the edges do look pretty straight right up to the edge of the screen. There is no discernible fisheye affect, and while you can tell its a wide angle, the image doesnt really look like a wide-angle in my opinion. It doesnt hae that gopro view feel. Stretching at the corners is present but not as bad as my rokinon 14 mm full frame. Im using this for real estate videos and its working out great on my a6500. Even wide open, you can get enough in focus that you dont need to worry about adjusting focus during the shoot. It is very light so my older gimbal does not vibrate the whole time like it did with my full frame wide-angle lens. The Lauwa 9m no distortion lens was tempting me, and I almost thought about sending this back to get that just to go that one step wider, but this one has been super usable, and when you move around with that other one, its looks too disorienting for Video. This one doesnt draw any unwanted attention to itself for how wide it is, and it is great image quality. For about $250, this was a great purchase. Im not sure even for a lot money I couldve found something that I like more in this 12 mm range. If I lost this one, I would buy this same one again.

great product! works amazing! high quality, sharp, dampened focus, and I LOVE how you can add filters (67mm). I would definitely recommend this lens to anybody who likes landscape/urbanscape. however, since it is a manual lens, you must know how to use it. That means aperture and focus are manual. It can be tricky at first, but you will get used to it. p.s. if you like my pics, follow me on IG: @hieu.h_

I bought this lens, but I think I must have received a unit with imperfections, which I returned for a refund. Seemed to take good clear pictures in the near field, but in the far field, but it did not produce the sharpness that so many other reviewers had noticed in the lenses that they had purchased. I think I will probably end up purchasing another unit sometime in the future in hopes and expectation that I get a unit of the quality level that so many others have raved about. I think the company is a good company, and I think the lens design is good, but I think there is some variability in some of the product. For many people their application(e.g. real estate photos) is served quite adequately with the excellent near field sharpness that my unit exhibited. But it was my hope to take landscapes(focused at infinity) that require a high level of far field sharpness which I was unable to capture with the unit I purchased.

I love extreme wide-angle lenses, so after a lot of research, I bought the Rokinon 12mm. It lives on my Sony a6300 always. Its a prime lens, no auto focus, no electronic communications with the camera, just simplicity from the get-go. I use aperture priority on the camera, set mostly at F/8 or F11, so most everything is sharp. I would advise anyone to do your homework and pick the lens that suits your work. This lens fills my needs at most every level. Nice glass!

Works really well. Clicks right into place. I use it for astrophotography with my Sony Mirrorless a6000. Ive taken some awesome photos with it but it is a manual focus, which is pretty tricky with this camera at night. Once you find the right spot its amazing though!

Very good lens for this price or a higher price. With it being fully manual you do have to make a few easy tweaks to your camera settings but then you are on your way and it is super easy to get shots in excellent focus almost every time. Some chromatic aberration like a few of the other reviews said. I have only had it a week because they sent me the Fujifilm version instead of emount so I had to wait another week but I have had it out a few times and so far I am very happy with it and think it will help me add another dimension to my photography. I might even consider adding the 90 or 135mm from Rokinon to my collection because I am not super fond of my sony kit telephoto. I will give it 4 stars and may bump it up to 5 as I get more experienced with it and take more photos.

Wow, I am absolutely Blown Away by the value offered by this Rokinon 12mm lens. As a professional architectural photographer, I truly appreciate how this lens delivers tremendous picture quality for the money. It should be noted that this lens is fully manual, and it does not communicate with the camera. But, that lets you enjoy true manual photography, where you get an aperture ring to adjust the f-stop. More crucially, this lens is reasonably resistant to flare and ghosting, is sharp edge to edge and does not exhibit much geometric distortion.

Really sharp lens in the center, and may be just a little soft in the corners. This is my goto lens for Night Sky and Milky Way photography with my a6000. There is some Chromatic Aberration but it can be easily corrected in Software. Requires some time getting used to the Manual Focus ring especially with the Infinity Stop. The true infinity would be slightly to the left of the infinity symbol marked on the Focus ring. Ive easily been able to get good Night sky photos with very little or no Star Trails with 25 second exposures. Also a good lens for Landscape photography. The much expensive Touit 12mm might be sharper than this lens, but I have not noticed any loss of sharpness with this lens in my experience.

Im honestly new to these kinds of cameras but Im excited to learn more about them. I love taking photos at night. My only minor concern is how this was shipped.. being what it is I dont think using a bubble mailer was a smart idea. But as for the over all product with what I have played around with so far I have no complaints :) Once I get the hang of it I will update my review. Update: 02/23/2019. Im still learning how to use a manual lens but I wanted to share a star field photo and scenery photo that I had taken while in NZ. I enjoy this lens and super happy with this purchase, I wish I could give ten stars.

I am using this on a Sony a6000. The lens is very sharp in the center, but falls off a lot at the edges and corners, particularly wide open. Sharpness in the corners and edges improves up to about f8. This has the most chromatic aberration of any lens I own, and it is actually challenging to get rid of it in Photoshop, without affecting other greens and purples in your photo. When comparing to the Zeiss 12mm, the Zeiss has better corner to corner sharpness, but the Samyang/Rokinon is actually sharper in the center. The Zeiss has significantly less chromatic aberration.
