Great, inexpensive way of exploring macro photography. I have been using this on a Canon 70d with a 50mm prime lens. As with all macro photography, this takes patience, very good lighting and a very stable hand (or a tripod). While the results are not quite the same as with a real macro lens, I am very happy with the results.

Amateur photographer here. What’s below amateur? Whatever that is, is me. Hello, I am so new to photography lol. I have shaken hands and this doesn’t do well with shakey hands or fast moving objects. It takes patience to get a good picture. I am excited to practice more and learn with this lens cap. It takes detailed photos and is userfriendly! This is a purchase that I am SO thrilled I made. If you’re wondering if you should buy it, just get it!! It is cheap and worth every penny. I use a Nikon D3400.

Love this lens.. gives me great quality images as I use it on my canon 100mm f2.8L lens. I did get rid of the snap on piece and got step up rings so it would screw into the filter thread. Works much better then the snap on part that comes with it.

This is a value packed little diopter. Clarity is fantastic. Distortion is minimal. The sample shot Ive posted was captured using a Tamron 90mm + the Raynox 250. In a hurry, Ive used it with zoom lenses as well such as Tamrons 17-50mm and 70-200mm. Yes, your DoF will be paper thin so make sure youre checking your DoF often while shooting so that youre capturing the critical parts of your subject. This type of device works best when used in conjunction with focus stacking software.

Got this a few months ago. The lens works very nice and as expected, but the snap mechanism can fail if no being very careful (Mine snapped off while on a rocky terrain, so it got scratched). Certainly not a deal breaker, since you can get nice macros with it. Im not photography expert (Have a cheap Sony DSC-HX300), dont have all the equipment and ignore the macro photography theory, but still can take some fairly good macros with it (Added two samples of macros I took with it).

Often you get an accessory like this and you have these dreams, visions - anticipations of how good it could be. I envisioned myself going to the park, taking really great close ups of bugs or butterflies - getting awesome detail of food close-up or eyes of my kids. Guess what - I was able to do all of that with this great little device. I highly recommend this. If you are a part-time macro enthusiast this is a great way to always have a little macro goodness in your camera bag at all times. Its as simple as popping it on and focusing. On my Sony A7 with kit lens it worked EXTREMELY well - even the auto focus. You have go get about 3-4 inches away from the object your photographing but the detail and clarity knocked my socks off.

After reading perhaps hundreds of reviews throughout the web I finally bought one of these to use with my Canon SX40. I am very happy with it but, like many reviewers say, it DOES require practice and it DOES require patience. The best advice I found for using it was (1) set the zoom to 100mm equivalent, (2) get about 5-6" from your subject, and (3) use manual focus but because the depth of field is SO shallow for the Raynox, physically move the camera in and out just the slightest to achieve focus. I am also restricting my ISO to 200-400 to keep the image as clear as possible. Oh, and although the Raynox doesnt require an adaptor to use on my Canon, I had bought a step-down ring for something else and prefer using it w/the Raynox--it gives the Raynox clip-on a little more to grip onto. I dont like the lens cap that comes with the Raynox so purchased a 49mm Fotodiox Inner Pinch Lens Cap from Amazon and love it (see that review also).

I LOVE this lens. I will admit it took me a few days to learn how to use it. Some great videos on Youtube helped! It was, however, a too tight a fit for my Canon and I use a file to file down the edges which hook onto the lens on my camera. Now it is easy to put on and off, without being too tight. Takes incredible photos of flowers and bugs! I really love it!

Ive been doing more close-up photography lately and found that this little lens works very well as an excellent alternative to splurging for a dedicated macro lens for some applications. I originally considered purchasing the Canon 500D close-up lens which is has an achromat design, but this lens is also an achromatic lens, is very sharp and has a higher magnification ratio than the Canon. I originally purchased the Raynox to use for close-ups with my Nikon Coolpix P510 but Im now also using it on my Nikon 55 - 300 lense with my Nikon D40 & D5300 cameras. It seems to work best with my longer zoom lens than it does with medium zooms - with my 55 - 140 lens I get some vignetting around the edges - but not with the 300mm lens.

This is a great little addition to my camera bag. I have a Nikon set-up and I mainly focus on macro photography. I add this little device to my macro 1:1 lens and set my aperture to a higher f value for a deeper depth of field and get really detailed pictures.
