First day with this lens. I had/have Canon EF 28-300mm (using metabones) which I was hoping I could leave home if I got something comprable. What I really enjoy is the light weight balance of this lens. Its easy to maneuver if you need to get that right shot. For me I bought it for sports. Football and track recording. The most impressive function of this lens is getting a decent wide angle shot of the finish line. You are too close for 200mm and u cant move around when runners are sprinting a 400m relay so this lens truly gets you that ability to record around the track without sprinting yourself. The 280mm telephoto is okay. The best part of the telephoto on this lens is steady shots with dual OIS. You definitely notice picture jitter without dual OIS. For the downside. First is out of the box the construction feels cheap. Literally feels like a hollow tube. I know we are trying to cut weight, but I feel like we are sacrificing durability and possibly quality with non composite lens material. Well see after a few more uses. Another issue that is driving me a bit skeptical is the focal/zoom ring. Or could be just that the lens is new, but when zooming it tends to semi catch on clutch. Like the motion isnt smooth and fluid. I understand its brand new but it just shouldnt be such a jerky zoom right out of the box. Im hoping it just needs to get broke in and the zoom itself needs some movement to get worn in. I dont ever remember m. Zuiko lenses ever having this prob. I gave a 4 out of 5 stars primarily because I feel it should cover 180mm not 140mm. Another 80mm does make a difference. With the extra zoom, u could easily make out runners faces at the starting line while recording from the finish line. The zoom ring should be fluid right out of the box.

A great lens for my GX85. Focus and stabilization are right on. I have read about some issues with jitteriness with 4K video, but paired with the GX85, I cant see any. I would like it if the zoom was a bit easier to turn, but I think that will loosen up with some use. Its not terribly tight, just not silky smooth (yet, I hope)

Great range for the price, my only issue with it is the zoom ring is tough to rotate. It feels like theres a lot of friction which causes it to bite when youre zooming slowly. I dont know if its because I havent used it enough yet or what (have had it for a few weeks). I also have a canon 70D with the 18-135mm kit lens and honestly that lens has a zoom ring that feels much more light and smooth than the 14-140. This of course shouldnt be an issue if youre just taking pictures; its only a problem if youre shooting video and trying to get slow, steady zoom which we dont even need much anyway. So dont let this discourage you, Im absolutely sure with practice the zoom ring will be easy to deal with and most people would agree its one of the best run-n-gun lenses for the range and price!
