Agree with all previous positive reviews and excellent Robin Wongs blog. Excellent glass. Razor sharp at f2.8 and several stops down. I am very new to micro four thirds and still learning. I have been an iPhone shooter. I know why Olympus made this excellent lens at f2.8 in plastic body - more affordable for the masses. I would still love to have a f2.0 pro with metal body. If Olympus ever plans to upgrade to 60mm or 90mm macro pro, Ill be waiting in line. I just love the feel of the pro series lenses. I dont mind the extra weight.

The lens delivers, but it can be slow to focus. It is lightweight and manageable/holdable, but a tripod of some kind is probably best for some macro shots. It can be used as a macro lens or just for walking down the street. It has several settings which might take getting up to speed on for a non-professional.

Great lens - use it as both a portrait and Macro. Light, quick to focus, quiet. Hunts a bit indoors. Not the greatest of length for indoors. Use it on a GH2, video has been great too. Pleasing bokeh, creamy colors - true to the olympus heritage. Had to read a bit to get the macro setting working right, takes some try to do it handheld. Offers good separation

A compact, light, amazingly sharp lens. Given decent light focus is fast, especially when the focus rang limiting is being used. For manual focus the range limiting dial can move the lens to 1:1 focus quickly so the photographer doesnt have to turn the focus ring endlessly. Its great to have such a portable 1:1 macro.

One more five star rating for the lens - the attached images speak for themselves. I purchased it to replace my belove Zuiko 50mm macro that was on the aging E-30 body. While that combination is still used occasionally (it provides a sharp, yet slightly creamy image that is still quite beautiful) this little lens is on an OM-D 10 and is blisteringly sharp. The images speak for themselves. Equally adept at distant images, I imagine most are interested in its macro capabilities, which is what I have provided images for. Enjoy this outstanding lens! The best of the MFT format!

Fast, light, and well-built. Lens hood (bought separately) is a very clever sliding design, so its always there when needed, out of the way when not. The accompanying documentation, though, is minimalist, to say the least. I had to resort to Internet searches to figure out how to use the focus-limiting switch and to be warned that the focus ring, while very precise, has a range of several rotations. For awhile, I thought it might be defective. Having gotten through all of that, its a perfect lens for the type of work I often do!

Cant really say much that hasnt been said already, its extremely sharp and has accurate focus. Ill just add that it takes some good lighting to get a good photo. I use this in conjunction with the Olympus FL-600r and this combo works great. At this price, I dont think there are many other lenses that come close to it.

Tack sharp lens with good color and contrast. It is compatible with EM1s focus stacking mode. Lens hood is not included in original packaging. OEM hood is great but can be expensive. JJC version has terrible push-pull sliding mechanism, but very cheap. Maybe some vaseline can resolve the issue..

Replacing a Sigma 105mm I used on my Nikon cameras; I actually *lost* that one somehow (never done that before in 40+ years of hauling photo gear around), and had to decide what to replace it with, and decided I was using my Micro Four Thirds system for this sort of thing. The fact that this cost half what the current Nikon 105mm costs didnt hurt any!
