A high quality lens that delivers great results at all f/stops. The resolution and color rendition is outstanding, even with extreme cropping. There is no doubt that I will now purchase the comparable 35mm lens. Well done, Nikon! The Z6/7 cameras and related Z lenses are a game changer. This could well spell the beginning of the end of digital SLR cameras...except the Nikon D850 is still probably the best of the best, but at a substantially higher price.

I like this new Z series lens so much! Nice quality, very solid and still not so heavy (only about 450gr). Excellent sharpness and overall picture quality. Its so sharp even at fully open aperture. Silent and fast autofocus! Now my videos does not have cracking noice from the focus UV motor. I am now selling all my old Nikon gears and switching to Z series. Highly recommended this lens!

Great lens for the Nikon Z series. I have the Z 6. It’s everything the pro reviewers claimed. It’s top quality as evidenced by its weight but about the same as the lighter AF-S Nikon 50’s when you add the weight of the required adapter. This lens or the Z 35 S are perfect primes, complementing the kit Nikkor 24-70 S and the upcoming Nikkor 14-30 S that I have preordered from Amazon. I hope I receive it before my May 31st Cruise (hint, hint). Overall the Nikon Z series is a great travel combo.

The Nikkor Z 50mm 1.8 has to be one of the sharpest lenses that Nikon has produced. Paired with the Z7 body, the image quality is exceptional.

This 50mm prime lens is the perfect complement to my Nikon Z7. Yes, the lens is expensive but for professional grade equipment its not unreasonable.

Waiting on this for a Christmas present, but I got a chance to try this lens out for a day on my new Z6. I took many shots and compared it to my "F" mount 50 with the FTZ adaptor. The later is cheaper and lighter and works wells with the FTZ, but the Z mount lens just has better quality glass. The Z lens looks minimalistic, but the performance its not. Mirrorless is not all about size and weight, there are many other important factors being overshadowed by dimensions. Mirrorless is the future and its here now and its great (If you choose wisely). If money is your driving force and you have the FTZ than the "F" mount may be a good option for you, but if you want to have the absolute best quality lens with flexibility then go with the Z. I have been an amatuer photographer for over 30 years. Im glad I made the move and very happy with results and capabilities.

Supreme quality. Exactly what you would expect from a premium Nikkor lens. Feels nothing like the 24-70, way more premium in optics and construction

I only own this and the kit lens and the 50 is my go to every time. Super sharp. Still easy to hit your focus at f1.8 and the background separation is very nice.
