Teleconverter pairs well with my Nikon D7200 camera and Nikon 200-500mm lens. Allows for longer zoom range and reduces the amount of crop required. Seems to perform best on objects 50 to 100 feet away. Photos are sharp. However, advantage over what the Nikon 200-500mm can do alone is slight. Price for a little advantage is high.

I use this Teleconverter with my 300mm f4 PF lens and D500 excellent reach and I have seen very little loss of detail using that combination.

Bought this for my Nikon 500 f4 fixed lens. It maintains all the functions required for bird photography in flight.

After a week of use, I am pleasantly surprised at the sharpness with a Nikon 80-400VR. Results with previous teleconverters were disappointing to me a few years ago. The one stop exposure loss is a small price to pay for the extra reach and all camera functions work perfectly, so far. This combination probably cant compete with a 200-400 or 600, but for a fraction of the cost it is producing some very good results. The lighter weight and smaller size makes this a setup ideal for wildlife hiking and it has done well on an architectural shoot. Design and build quality appear excellent.

Better than any knockoff, this still causes more image degradation than Id hoped. Part of this is probably due to the darkened image making it harder for the camera (or my eye) to focus as precisely as without it, and the effect is more noticeable when shooting the moon or planets.

Works great with Nikon 200-500 mm Telephoto Lens on D850. Bird images were sharp. Did not work with my 300mm Nikon Prime lens. This lens is the $1400 lens not the newest version.

Sure you lose a stop of light, but having 700mm of reach supported by Nikons VR works like a champ when shooting long wildlife. I use this on the Nikon D750 and get great results.

Of course it works - its Nikon; BUT, make SURE that your lens works with this. Also, remember that some lenses will not autofocus with this. Finally, remember that the image in your viewfinder will be dimmer when you use this.

Used it with both 70 to 200mm and 80 to 400 mm Nikon telephotos Got good sharp shots with both lenses. Auto focus worked well with both lenses. I also have the 2X teleconverter and had some issues with the auto focus

Using a teleconverter for the first time. It extended my reach and did not interfere with focusing. Should have done this earlier
Make sure this fitsby entering your model number. 1.4x teleconverter extends the reach of AF-S lenses by 40% with only a one-stop loss in exposure Advanced design maintains the optical quality of NIKKOR lenses as well as fully supports exposure metering and VR image stabilization capabilities Durable, weather-resistant barrel, along with fluorine-coated front and rear elements, support use in harsh conditions. Nikon F lens mount supports both FX and DX format AF-S NIKKOR lenses. Compatible with select Nikon models. Turn the AF-S NIKKOR 70–200mm f/2.8G ED VR into a 98–280mm f/4 lens or the AF-S NIKKOR 400mm f/2.8E FL ED VR into a 560mm f/4 lens.
