I got my lense a couple of days early, thanks for the quick shipping! Im using this lens on a Nikon D3200. Mine is made in China, brown/gold box. So far I love it! Much better than the kit lens and the older/lower quality 55-200 it is replacing. I do some shooting of my kids indoor sports so the better low light performance and VR will pay off big. The zoom range is also more appropriate for situations where Ill be walking around with just the one lens on the camera. So far no obvious problems with it being "no warranty" so Ill update it if anything changes. I did buy this with the amazon basic UV filter and was quite disappointed in that filter due to quite horrible flaring from light sources not even in the frame. Get a good multi-coated filter, end of story. Check dpreview lense buying guide and online reviews for how to get the most of this lens. Recommended!

This is an excellent lens.Made in Thailand.Comes in a white box ,not the golden one. Minds have no USA warranty ...but you save $ 220..00.I have a Nikon D7200 .Made in Thailand too.Anyway afther a year you will find your self with no warranty and you end paying close to $500.00 .. TO BUY OR NOT TO BUY....End the dilema.BUY THE STUPID LENS NOW...AND BE HAPPY

I love this lense! I’ve been using it for a week and have had no issues. I also got the shade and the UV lense which in my mind are a must have. The UV lense will protect the Nikon lense and the shade is great for blocking unwanted light when you don’t want it.

I needed a longer, yet fairly fast auto-focus lens for a couple of magazine assignments. Opted for this zoom and I am pleased. Results in low light (focus, image stabilization as well as basic optics) pleased my editors. Yes, it says made in Thailand and it doesnt come with a warranty. But it is a first-quality lens. Its a lifetime purchase, unless or until Nikon changes its technology. (I still kinda miss manual focus, but thats difficult with todays cameras and lenses.) Caveat: Ive not bench tested it.

Before this lens, I had the 18-55 & 55-200 lenses that needed a larger camera bag in order to have both lenses with me. I can get most of the shots I want to get with this one lens and it has VR which is new to me and I love. It is a bit heavier and physically larger than either of the 2 other lenses I have, but weighs less than the other two combined. To me, the larger size makes it more comfortable in the hand. After a few days of having this lens, I have shot outside in daylight, inside under synthetic light and at night getting shots of the moon and stars. Its not perfect, but its great at everything I have used it for. I will certainly have this lens attached to my camera 95% of the time.

This is the second lens that I bought (outside of the included kit lenses) for my D3300. So far Im impressed. I like the versatility of being able to go from 18 to 140mm with a single lens. This will be my new go-to lens for vacations and hiking trips. The rotation to zoom in and out is really smooth. There is not a lock feature to prevent the lens from accidentally rotating and extending out, but it seems to hold in place pretty securely. Ive added a couple pics to show the size compared to the 55-200mm lens.

This is a great lens. Very versatile. If you can only take one lens, this is it!

It came in a Nikkor box, with an instruction sheet. It did NOT come with the sun shade, a HB32 fits it. The listing was silent on the sun shade. I got that and a 1A filter from my local dealer. It does better than the lense it replaces in terms of low light, and it is a zoom to 140, whereas my old one was 125, so its pretty good from a distance. I use it almost exclusively in church. I have to test the image stabilization feature, I do get motion blur in the very low light. The autofocus is a little slow in low light, otherwise, its great.
