I purchased this lens recently and love it. You need to be careful of distortion and shadows made by the cameras flip flash. The distortion is acceptable and expected. To avoid the shadow from the cameras flip flash youll need to use a hot shoe flash. I use a speed light and theres no shadow at any focal length, even at 10mm. I was considering the Tokina but went for the slightly more expensive Nikon. If youre looking for a hyper-wide zoom that will work with ANY Nikon DSLR and have $900 burning a hole in your pocket then this is the lens for you! Also, I am not a flipflop wearer, I dont know how that got there!!!

Love this lens for my d5500 as a companion to the 18-140 kit. I was able to immediately get the shots I needed for real estate photography. Photos are stunning. Seller was great to work with even though Amazon failed to inform me of shipping details and caused the product to sit at the post office for a week.

I am very happy with this lens. The build quality is quite solid. I have not tested the optical quality other than closely examing the photos I have taken. I am very pleased with the sharpnees. There is some chromatic abberation as one might expect with this type of lens. I have not had much problem with excessive lens flare, but as you would expect with any ultrawide angle, it is definitely there. I have been using it for a few weeks and I have found that I am using it more at the long end (15-24mm). Having such a wide angle takes some getting used to, but I am enjoying tha challenge. I have found that I have a fresh new view of my favorite places to shoot. Its like seeing with new eyes.

Typical great Nikon reliability and construction. The optics are fantastic. This is exactly what I was looking for in a wide angle lens. I hope to have it part of my lens collection for many years to come.

Excellent quality. I dont finds the plastic body to be at all cheesy. The lens has a nice solid feel to it. Super sharp results for my landscape photos.

Although Ive only had this lens for a few days, I am truly impressed by the photos I get when using it. A wide angle lens like this requires a different approach in taking photos. I went online to view videos to learn how best to get decent results. On my first trip out using it, I got some serious distortion of my images. But, as the day progressed and I took more photos, the distortion got better. Yesterday I had my second outing with this lens. Of the images I have processed, Ive seen very little distortion. I altered my approach to composing a shot to take into account the special capabilities of the wide angle. Im not a professional photographer but I have to admit that my pictures are, indeed, better looking as a result of the attention to detail this lens requires. As I continue using it on my photography trips, I am sure I will become more familiar with the pluses and minuses of the lens. But, for right now, I am extremely pleased with what I am seeing.

My husband I travel a lot and needed a wide lens for our Nikon D7100 camera. This was ideal for multi-purpose use. I hate changing my lenses as Im walking around an unknown country. This is not a telephoto lens, but its wide enough to capture everything you want in a frame. You are able to edit your photos to crop and zoom in if needed. I love the quality of my photos with this lens.

This is an amazing lens! If you read my other reviews, youll know that I am and have been a huge fan of Nikon for many years. If you cant decide on going with the DX or FX format DSLR, consider this: Nikon has several DX format lenses that arent offered by any other brand or in any other format. Period. The 10-24mm is the widest lens made for DX that isnt a fisheye! I shoot scenics - mostly panoramas or vistas using the QTVR tripod head - and this lens will handle anything I can come up with. If you are shooting with an FX fromat Nikon, the lens will work on it, but keep in mind that your FX format camera will automatically crop to the smaller DX frame size. As is so often the case with Nikkor lenses, the glass is superb and the color rendition is identical to my other DX lenses. Yes, the lens is expensive and it requires 77mm filters. Its a perfect match for my 18-300mm DX zoom which also uses 77mm filters. The auto focus is both fast and quiet. Its max angle of coverage at the 10mm setting is an astounding 110`. If you shoot panos or interiors this lens makes that possible with a minimum of distortion. If you are processing your RAW images using Photoshop, the RAW editor allows you to use a lens profile to correct any barrel distortion. The 10-24mm has very minimal barrel distortion which is easily removed. The depth of field (focus) is insane at the max f-stops. This is a true wide angle zoom and the quality is worth every penny!

Excellent nikkor lens for my nikon camera d7500, especially due to the dx sensor which crop the image. With this nikon lens 10-24 I got the best perspective like a full frame sensor.. lol
