Just got this lens for bird mating season and its killing it with a good amount of zoom, very good auto focus, very good VR and great clarity. Have not done any sports yet i think it will be fun there is a sports setting on the switch as well as manual and auto focus The AF P pulse motor is very quick to lock on i am very impressed with it. I was quit surprised how much of an up grade this is on my D750 over my D5300 with the 70 300 AF P VR DX i had concern that i was buying a duplicate and maybe i should be getting a 400mm now i am glad i did not. I am very happy to have added a good action lens to my bag. Any lens that would be better than this would be too heavy for me to carry and cost way more than what i would want to send.

This lense is simply out of the world . The quality and its sharpness is unbelievable . I was hesitating to buy an expensive lense ( even if this price is far from the professional ones) but I don’t regret it. I used it on a D5600 and it totally change the results of the camera. Very fast autofocus and no noise. Cannot be more glad. Now I just need to take extra care of it.

I bought this to complement the 24-120 for a Europe trip. It was a great travel lens with good sharp focus. Not the fastest focus, but adequate for most shooting. Also, be warned that, when turned off then back on, it doesnt maintain the same focal point - a bit annoying when using for astrophotography!!!

Had the prior version of this lens and always found it to be a little soft. This version is sharp and fast. This lens just traveled with me for a month in southern Africa and I encountered no issues and have no complaints. Shot on a full-frame body (Nikon Df).

Product is what I expected, great product. Unfortunately everything that was suppose to be in the box wasn’t. It was to include a soft Lens Case, there is none. Called Amazon, they want me to return the entire Lens as they can’t send me a case. This was the 5th phone call I have made to Amazon in 2 days for their blunders. I’m pretty much done with them!

This lens replaced my DX format lens and I couldnt be happier. The lens is fast enough for my needs and is very sharp for a zoom telephoto. Light weight helps when carrying it around with my D7500 body all day. Highly recommend this lens if you are looking for a great zoom in this focal length range.

I thought this would be a good lens for capturing wildlife but it just doesnt have enough reach. The quality is excellent so those photos I do take are great but I was expecting more. Go with the 200-500 mm if you want to photograph wildlife, especially birds.

I already had the Nikon 70-200mm F2.8 and wanted something lighter for travel. This lens checked all the boxes and then some. I previously owned a Tamron 70-300 F4-5.6 and the Nikon produces much sharper images across the aperture range.

Excellent and affordable lens. I upgraded from a Tamron 70-300 VC that never seemed sharp to me. The Nikon is super sharp, focuses really fast, and us very quiet compared to the Tamron. I opted for the FX version to protect my investment on the unlikely event that I someday trade up my camera body from my current D7500.
