I got my lens yesterday and put it on my Nikon D610. It does clank around while using auto focus, and because your body is doing the AF it is slower than if it were built in to the lens. Your body needs to have a focus motor in order to use the AF function of the lens. No, this is not the best lens ever. It is still a little soft at f/8. However..youre getting it for just over $100, why do you think great zooms cost hundreds and sometimes thousands of $$? Because they are significantly better. The hood on this one is a little off. Its hard to line up for me to put on backwards for storage. I wish the mount wasnt plastic and would have paid an extra $50 to have a metal mount. I hope these images help your decision. I like to see images taken with lenses prior to purchase and I wish I saw it included more often. If the lens ends up falling apart or stop functioning I will update this review

Pictures came out great when attached to my Nikon D5300! Very impressed with the quality and the amount of ground covered with this lens, I was quite a ways away and the deer that were running past looked like they were right next to me! Sure my camera doesnt allow autofocus to work with this lens but I dont normally use autofocus anyways.

A freaking mazing for the price. This seriously should be hundreds of dollars more. It is everything you need as an amateur photographer. Bought it for a trip to Ireland and was able to take pictures of a fort across a bay with total clarity that was barely visible to the naked eye.

Used on a nikon d3400. Auto focus doesnt work. Picture very sharp when manually focused. Pretty good for refurbished.

This lens came quickly and looked to be in very good condition. However, when I tried to move the zoom in and out - it stuck! Movements were sticky and jerky when any zoom in or out was made. I checked online and discovered that sticky zoom lenses are not uncommon - but not in "new" or "certified/refurbished" lenses. The causes for sticky lens are either out-of- round housing or lubricating grease that has hardened with age. Neither of these should have been a problem with this lens based on its advertised description. I was disappointed and simply returned it through Amazon.

This product arrived in two days as was expected, though the autofocus does not work on my camera; Nikon d3300, it was still not that bad focusing on stuff as long as it was not moving. It came in a typical Nikon box, when I opened it up, it looked and was packaged perfectly new. Now that I’ve been working with it for a few weeks it is one of my favorite lenses to bring with me, I would say this is a very good deal for the price.

Just received in mail, cover is put on so tight, you cant open it unless you break it. So have no idea how it works. Have to send back and get a new one. Not very happy at all. Will give an update once I get one that works. ***UPDATE**** I finally got the cap off and was able to use. I really liked it. Glad that I purchases this. The only down fall is its not automatic focus, but awesome to use for beginners like me. Glad I didnt send back.

Item received was not as described by the seller. The lens in the box was clearly different than the one specified on the label. I needed the older style 70-300 f/4-5.6G for my D300. This lens is not fast enough for what I want it to do. Plus, it may not even be compatible with older Nikon dslrs. Im not even going to bother testing it. I wanted to take this lens with me on vacation, but the only trip this lens is taking is a trip back to the seller.

This is a very good lens. I am very pleased with it. The only thing holding it back is that the product description does not mention what type of AF this lens uses. I have a Nikon D3300 and assumed that the lens was AF-S when it was only AF. This is an amazing lens and Id recommend it regardless of what camera body you have, just be sure that your camera has a build in AF motor or else youll be in my situation where you can only manually focus the lens.

With the Auto-ISO capability of my D750 and D800 I can get very good images at f/8 or f/11 in most lighting.
