This lens is crisp and clear! I am in no way a professional photographer, but love to photograph as a hobby. This was the perfect addition to my basic lens.
I was in the market for a 70-300mm, but was in a pinch because my inexperience led me to incorrectly buy an AF-P for my 3200, our trip was less than a week away, and this was the only lens of its tier that could arrive in time. I was really pleased. We didnt really have a lot of time to allow for lens changes on the fly, but the ability to use 55mm meant I wasnt missing *too* much when it came to shoot landscapes, and there were only a couple instances where I felt I was really missing that extra zoom on the top end. I would have maybe dinged them a star for some less than perfect packaging, but the lens I had bought from them in error was packaged well. For the time being, it gets 5* for doing everything I could have reasonably expected it to do. My only concern so far is that it adjusting the length feels just a hair looser than I like.
So glad I purchased this lens for my Nikon D5100. Incredible lens for the money. So lightweight and easy to use. The AF works quickly and quietly for my use - perhaps a professional might think it a little slow...it is not....pictures are great...what i like the most is the weight (or lack of)...great for travel when you dont want to carry around heavy metal lenses. It is plastic as is the mount, but you only have to be relatively careful. With this lens I would pick up by the camera and not the lens alone, since the mount is plastic. I now only carry this and a Nikon 50mm in a smaller bag. All the lens you need. Great zoom lens.
i got this lens because i needed a wider range of zoom. i also have the 35mm 1.8 lens and although this lens isnt as sharp it has great quality, the pictures are best at a longer range using a tripod, but this would be great for nature photography or even doing model shoots. it handles well in low lighting and is just really great for the price, being that i bought it as "used" i was very pleased with the results, it looked brand new, no visible scratches whatsoever. it comes with a lens cap and a body cap, and also a hood, all of great quality. it even came with a carrying case. the shipping was great, i ordered it friday and received it on that monday after. im very pleased, although i dont think it could be considered a "prime" or "pro" lens, but its great for beginner/intermediate photographers. dont think twice about ordering it! great deal!
works as described. fits the body well and integrates with the camera electronics well. looked very clean with no blemishes. as long as it holds up, it should be a very good value. amazon had the best price of all the sites i checked.
The Len is what I expected. I am happy with the camera Len, but it arrived late. I contributed the item srriving late on FedEx. I encourage the company to use UPS to meet the guarantee delivery date.
As a beginning photographer, I am loving this. I get really good pictures and I can practice on this lens until I am good enough (and I save enough money - lol) to get a better lens. This does not mean that I will not use the lens after I get the other one! I paid for this one and I am going to use it until it falls apart! :)
Harder to get a larger image, more stuff into the picture, if you dont have the room to stand back without changing lenses, but great for close ups.
OH I AM HAPPY ! very pleased with what I got for the price I paid, thanks Amazon !!! Came pretty fast to my door step, put it on my camera and went right to taking pictures, love the results, buy this one.
This lens has allowed me to enter a whole new plane of picture taking and backyard wildlife stalking. I was pleased that it was ergonomic and didnt add much weight to the camera.
