I always read the worse reviews first and this product had its share. Just arrived today and have already taken over 200 shots with it using my Nikon D7000 (also arrived today). I upgraded from a Sony DSC F 828 Ive had for almost 12 years. A nice camera but very dated. Anyway... I couldnt be happier with this lens. UPDATE After using this lens for about a week and taking almost 3,000 photos, the zoom ring began to stiffen up from 105mm to 200mm making it "jumpy" and difficult to operate. Im sending it back and replacing it with a Tamron 70 to 300mm. The lens still provided me with some GREAT pictures (mostly of my two dogs) but the zoom issue was a deal breaker. One last comment, The camera I purchased dropped in price only days after I purchased it. I contacted Amazon via "chat" and they refunded the difference! So... keep an eye on the price of anything you purchase for at least 7 days from the day of delivery. If the price drops, Amazon will give you back the difference.

The unit came as described-used condition with signs of wear so this was already a conceived notion I had in mind when receiving the product. When taking the lens out for a test run on my Nikon D 5100, the auto focusing seemed to have an issue locking on a target when using the longer end between 70-200MM, when I manually focus I can get around this issue but hinders the main idea of getting this sort of lens. That being said the optics of the lens are pristine and it will be something to keep around for those shots that require the range until I can afford something else. For future buyers consider a few things when looking at this lens that I didnt, buying a used lens at this level (DX Consumer) most other operators will most likely not have the same care of the products that you may have so they will fatigue quicker, the build of these type of lens are plastic so again very fragile. This lens in particular was replaced with a VR type which is only 20-40$ more and 100% worth it, this shouldnt be an option for you. Lastly, look to buy new if possible as it will re-insure your.
