I was trying to use this lens for wildlife photography with my Nikon D3400 DSLR. I am comfortable with operating in manual mode, which is the only option for this product. So, I am sure I used it correctly. But the results seem unsatisfactory to me. - Pros: low cost, was delivered on time, packaging was OK, the make of the product feels solid. - Cons: Unfortunately, the quality of the pictures this lens produces is below average. Sharpness is lower than you would expect and there is a blue "halo" around the edges of objects in the picture. Color is also dull (I have tried shooting both in RAW and JPEG modes) and you would need to do a lot of post-processing to enhance color, brightness, contrast etc. The product arrived poorly assembled - the microscopic hex screws that hold theT-mount adapter were not tightened, so I had to find the right key to tighten them before I was able to use the lens. If you are looking to get close-up pictures of birds and other wildlife objects, you will get better results by cropping your images made with a native Nikons 300mm lens rather than using this 800mm. I am returning this lens.

I suppose if you only mounted it to a tripod with the lens tripod mount it would be ok but if hand held, merely focusing will detach it from the camera (Canon 800d) since its Canon adapter ring will not lock in place. You are also required to fasten the adapter ring to the lens with 3 set screws and an allen wrench. Lot of focal length for the money (plus I had a $20 coupon code) but I sent it back anyway. I would have never felt comfortable using a lens that would detach so easily.
