I love this lens. Im using it on both a Fuji X-T2 and a X-T3, and Ive been *very* happy with the results Ive been getting. I dont like to use a tripod, and thankfully this lens is optically stabilized. I had been using my 16mm 1.4 lens for close-up shots, but of course that lens is really best for wide angle landscape. The only drawback to this lens is that is is *very* heavy. This is not a lens I would carry around all day, for sure. But when I want to go out and shoot flowers or bees for a few hours, this is the lens for me! If youre a Fuji shooter, this is the macro lens to get!

This lens is an awesome addition to my Fujinon lineup. With the 1.4x teleconverter and a macro extension tube this will be my travel workhorse. The sharpness of this lens is nothing short of incredible. Focus is a little fussy in busy scenes, the focus limit switch helps a lot for closeup shots with a distant backdrop. In some cases back button focus plus manual focus worked best. All I can say is wow, Fuji knocked this one out of the park.

This is an amazing lens. I had been waiting for this lens for a long time in that I was wanting one with 1:1 magnification. This one not only has that but is weatherproof, has OIS, is crazily sharp, and has very nice bokeh so that you can use this for a wide range of situations. I absolutely love this lens. The OIS gains at least 4 stops, if not 5, and this allows one to get very nice macro shots hand held which is very difficult in that when shooting that close up one usually needs to have the aperture fairly open and all motions are magnified. This lens can also be used for nice portrait photos with a very pretty bokeh although it is not as good as the 90mm lens for that but I have never used a lens which is. The only non-positive detail that I would mention is that if one if using the 1.4x teleconverter, the auto-focus is much slower.

Another fantastic lens from Fuji. I have had several macro lenses over the years among which were the Tamron 90mm f2.8, Canon 50mm macro, and the fabulous Zeiss Touit 50mm f2.8 for Fuji. I still have and love the Zeiss, have used it for 3 years and got many great shots with it. I did some test shots in my backyard comparing the Zeiss and the Fuji and the Fuji is sharper and focuses much faster and more reliably than the Zeiss. So far I am very pleased with the color and micro contrast from the Fuji as well. I am very excited to use both lenses this spring and summer. Now if the darn wildflowers would just start blooming.

well worth the wait. Initial photos show clear, sharp macro shots. Narrow depth of field as expected. Heavier than I expected and yet those photos make up for the weight. OIS is superb. Price? Its a Fuji lens, what else is there to say. Looking forward to summer bugs and such.

Received the 80mm lens in what appeared to be a virgin container with no evidence of tampering. The lens received was contaminated inside. The lens contamination appeared to be a metallic material or a blemish inside the first lens glass element at the opposite end of the mount (front element). The lens appears to have left the manufacturing facility with either a defect in the glass or a spec of metallic contamination inside the sealed lens. I plan to replace the lens and will update the ratings / image quality experience once I receive a replacement lens.

I think I god 2 bad copies or Did Fuji just made a lemon macro AF lens?? Please note all photos you see here were all taken Manual Focus to achieve this results. I never had a great shot with AF and OIS turned On. To many shots missed with out of focus after focus confirmation is on, It seems that the lens confirm the focus with the green light on the camera and when I take the shot the OIS moves the sharpness away something is off with the lens, on regular mode photos are sharp but I bit soft @ F2.8 in my opinion. When used in macro mode with AF I dont think the lens is performing very well and for me this the OIS doesnt work on macro mode or shifts the focus away after focus confirmed. I tried manual focus and get better results moving back and forward I have better sharp photos but not watt I expected for 1200.00 lens to be working manual focus. This Lens has great glass and built quality is very good and heavy lens also not well balanced with small cameras. I took photos for about 3 weeks testing with my XT-20 and end up returning 2 lens and get a manual 85MM Meike lens manual focus that does same or better job than this lens. I want it to have this lens for sure but for this price Fuji drop the ball. This is my personal opinion and I posted some samples so you people can see that I actually use this lens.

Absolutely amazing piece of kit. I have never shot macro before, but it was always something Ive been interested in so I decided to spring for this lens during the sale. I took all three of the attached photos within the first 7 days of owning this. Produces incredibly sharp images, and an absolute joy to use and own. Im just a novice photographer so I will leave the more technical reviews to others, but the images Ive taken and the images others have taken using this lens speak for themselves.

An incredible lens - sharp, bright, fun to use, and very well made. it works as a macro lens, of course, but also is useful as a short telephoto - similar to the 90mm lens. It is an excellent addition to the Fuji XF lens line-up. I love it. -=Rick
