IMPORTANT: At present this teleconverter is compatible only with Fujis 50-140mm and 100-400mm lenses. Using with any others either simply doesnt work or could result in equipment damage. I have used teleconverters in the distant past but have avoided them for years. Traditionally they served a useful function but at the cost of reduced light gathering and degraded optical performance. The first is still true - it is inherent in the device. But the ISO performance of the latest generation of Fiji sensors mitigates this somewhat. The second may still be detectable but only with formal tests and instrumentation. In the "old days" it did not take a sharp eye to see that using a teleconverter softened the image. It effect was obvious and unambiguous. I have been using this teleconverter with Fijis 50-140mm.I see no effect on image quality even at the corners. There must be some but it is so little you will never know.

I keep asking myself the singular question: Is getting 40% more on a zoom lens worth $449? That said, I am using this with my XT-2 and the 100-400mm lens. I tested in several situations mid day on a super nice day with little clouds and beautiful lighting conditions and am delighted with the results. I did not see anything in the images that would indicate that I was using a telephoto lens. So with respect to image quality, I am super duper happy. Still though, that question. $449 = 1.4 or 40%? Knowing that the 2x is same price and Fuji says it works but seems like 9 out of 10 pro photographers say never use a 2x on a zoom. In a perfect world one would think that the 1.4 should be a bit less but on the other hand the costs to make it are probably the same as the 2x. So, knowing that I like it and did purchase it knowing the price, I think that I need to focus on the build quality. It is a little thing but I know that good glass is not cheap and Fuji makes some great glass. Factoring that into the build quality, (Like a Rolex) I do believe that I got a, "Thing" that is build well enough to be $449 product. A bit of babble there for sure... So in the end. Great quality images, extremely well build and does what it supposed to do. I do love it so going with all five stars. I know that there will be a situation where I will take that single shot from far away and will be glad it was part of my kit.

This TC is simply amazing. I got it as part of a package with the 100-400 Fuji tele. Ive been amazed by the build quality and the image quality using the TC. I expected image degradation but have yet to see any. You give up a full F stop as expected but you dont give up anything else. Kudos to Fuji for another great product.

Many reviewers report diminished sharpness when using most brands of teleconverters, but with this attached to my Fujinon XF 100-400mm lens I do not detect any reduction in sharpness even when viewing the images at 200% in Adobe Lightroom. I recommend this product for Fuji shooters who have the 50-140mm, 100-400mm, or 80mm macro lenses. I understand it will not attach to other Fujinon lenses.

As with anything Fuji, well-designed, small, and well built. I use it with 100-400 for birding pictures and long distance landscapes -- or tele-macro shooting, as it were. Also does well with 80 mm macro. I shoot with x h1 and image stabilization allows me a very good reach. Has a reserved place in my camera bag.

Typical high-quality Fujifilm glass. Im using the 1.4x and 2x teleconverters with a Fujifilm XF 100-400mm lens. There is very little optical degradation when using the 1.4x extender and Im yielding better than anticipated results. Center sharpness is excellent with some slight degradation at the edges.

Works great with Fujifilm 100-400mm lens. I do not notice any reduction in sharpness with XT2 camera.
