Seems to be perfect. I was a little worried at first, they are used and the manual focus did NOT work at first. Then I read up on them. The manual focus is not what they call fully locked on. You must flip the Auto Focus off for the manual focus to work. When I did then the manual focus worked just like I am used too. It ss made of plastic and so it is a cheap one, but it seems to be very good for the money, and since I bought it used it was even cheaper. So far it has worked good. And I bought it because even though it is made of plastic it has received many excellent reviews.

One of the best of the line of lenses for the EF series. If you only have one lens, get this one. Very clear and auto focus, on the T6i was impeccable.

I really love this lens and am so happy that I bought it. It has allowed me to get photos I would never be able to get. It is super-easy to put on the camera body - can be done quickly. If you are going traveling and you are wanting to photograph big monuments and buildings, this lens will help you produce beautiful photos.

I liked the price. But the picture quality is really horrible. Im not sure if its not a genuine canon lens or if its a really old version of it. Either way Id not reccomend it.

As many have, Ive found myself turning more and more to shooting short videos with my dSLR and this is a great change over the T3i that I had before. The focus in the movie is a tad bit spotty, but I think thats a function of my lack of expertise with the focusing modes (point vs. area best guess) while shooting. Ive only had it a short while, but it has been ultra silent.I used the manual focus in a beach shoot with a friend popping the question with great results. :)

Great Lens! I have done some tests with it and it is sharp and the video isnt grainy. Autofocus during video is just fine! (Update) The pictures are definitely not sharp, good color, and autofocus is is slow because it is not usm. Not as sharp as an L Lens, but it works for now.

My original lens took a dip in a muddy creek, so I needed a replacement. This one works just the same, so Im a happy camper with a tighter grip on my lenses!

This is one of Canons basic lenses and, as such, meets the high standards of Canon for this level of lens. The one aspect that resulted in less than five stars is that it is a bit slow in its auto-focus feature (despite the production notes advertised with the lens), nothing to detract from its overall quality, but for quick action shots that need rapid focusing capability to "catch" the shot, it tends to take a few milliseconds longer than the higher quality lenses . . . not measured, subjective observation.

huge difference for making videos on our Canon camera, its totally quiet and you dont hear the lens moving at all. good service, came packed well. we have been using it a lot and have had no issues.
