I was skeptical about getting this for my Canon T3i as I was wanting a few more feet in my exposures for interior photos for my real estate business. If any agent is thinking about it, youll be pleasantly surprised with the additional angle of view. I use Lightroom to correct the perspective distortion and it whips the photo into great shape.

I am so in love with this lens and it just arrived last night! After a spectacular full arc rainbow appeared just outside my front door (that I couldnt capture in one shot with my max width 18mm) I finally bought this and am AMAZED!! Not only can I capture the sweeping landscapes Ive been thirsting after but I like the distortion you can get by choosing how you frame (artsy and all that). I was worried the f-stop of 4.5 was too narrow for good sunset shots, but the pics Ive shown are with the very very last bits of the sunset, so my worries were meaningless (not the best pics but wanted to show all the light coming in, even though it was pretty dark already). You wont get super-fine details with the focus on this, but hey, go invest an extra $1000 for what you really want. For my needs this is PERFECT

Its a 16mm-28mm (equivalent) wideangle for $300. 16mm rectilinear images dont come this cheap anywhere else. +Sharpness +Autofocus speed (also: silent) +Image stabilization +I havent broken it yet -It has a teensy bit of barrel distortion (cry about it) and the vignetting is pretty heavy at f/4.5 (its already well controlled at f/5.6) -Performance at 18mm is pretty weak. Just use it as a 10mm prime. Very impressed. I bought a Canon just so I could use this lens and I dont regret it.

A great wide angle zoom when youre on a budget. Build quality is good, but it is mostly plastic and very light. Image quality for me has been quite good. It is a bit slow and needs plenty of light, but thats not usually a problem outdoors. It does suffer a bit from flair. If you already have the 18-55 STM and the 55-250 STM, this is a good addition to complete a set of decent and affordable lenses for both stills and video.
