This lens is a must have. The price is affordable so there is no reason every photographer should not purchase this lens. This is my first experience with a f/1.8 lens. My other two lenses are kit lenses. They work but there is not comparison. Photos are sharp and clear with this lens. Blurring the background is no problem. I heard a lot of people saying photos get messed up with this lens mainly due to depth of field of the subject not being equal distance from the lens. I used the lens for about a week taking shots of anything and everything I could to get use to it. Once you are familiar with the lens you will love it. No issues in shipping or delivery. I did purchase the warranty just in case.

This is my favorite purchase on Amazon. The 50mm Len is great for portraits with that beautiful bokeh back ground and the 10-18 is great for landscape photos and Vlogging. Amazon And Canon did a great job when they created an payment plan for this product making it easily accessible to people with lower budgets. I wanted it but didn’t feel good about spending that much at the time but that payment option made me immediately tap the purchase button! budgets. I mean who here would pay almost 400 bucks up front if they had a $60 a month payment option? It was a great deal for me and I’m sure it will be for thousands of others as well.

This is a great lens. It is so easy to run around with and shoot great photos Light-weight, fast focus, and good for low-light situations. With the 1.8 can get great depth of field in your pictures. I also shoot with a 70-200 2.8 and find Ive been using this one much more often. Yes it doesnt have all the telephoto but much more light-weight and nimble. Be careful shooting under F2.2 as you will only get a very specific point in focus. Everything else will appear blurry. I usually shoot around 2.8 for good close-up shots.

You cannot go wrong with this lens, if you don’t have it, buy it. If you do have it, buy another. This is honestly a lens everyone should have, you don’t need a lens that costs $2,000 that has a plastic red strip around it, this’ll have you taking photos like Brandon Woelfel as soon as you put it on your camera. Pros: - It’s small (and light), which means it’s super easy to put in your bag, OR, you could even keep it on your camera as your only lens, it’s that versatile. - It’s versatile, like I said, you could use this as your only lens, it’s not so tight that it belongs on national geographic, and it’s not so wide that it can fit oprah in one photo. - It’s affordable, obviously, if you somehow break it despite it being made quite well, you don’t need to sell your daughters kidney to pay for another - It’s durable, despite it being affordable, it’s solid, especially with a metal mount to the camera. Besides that though, the exterior is plastic, but not that Chinese plastic crap the breaks easy. - Bokeh and a half, f1.8 is more than enough for almost any situation, it lets in enough light to brighten your future and is happy in the night aswell. - Relatively Sharp, especially for a 1.8 lens, but if you want it razor sharp it’s better to stop it down to f2.8 or higher, which is still more than enough, though f1.8 is still very very usable. Cons: There are none.

I shoot with compact sensor Canon DSLRs so am writing from that perspective. This is a handy lens to use on a compact sensor camera for portraits and some general photography as well. On a compact sensor this is equivalent to 80 mm so its not a lens to take as the only lens on a vacation with a compact sensor DSLR. I have used it for portraits and gotten very nice results. Note that wide open at f1.8, it is not sharp and is in fact quite soft in focus. It sharpens up by f2.8 and does even better at f4.0. For a lens in this price range it is pretty normal to have it be soft wide open, however I was a bit disappointed, which is why I will give it a 4 stars not 5. If you would like more information on sharpness at different f-stops there are quite technical reviews which are easy to find online. Overall, its pretty nice.

I ordered this Canon 50mm lens for my new Canon T7i and am very impressed with it. I am mainly going to use the lens for shooting HD video of personal interviews indoors, and this 50mm lens offers a great field of view at a comfortable distance from the interviewee. Note: The lens has a narrower field of view in a APS-C (crop sensor) camera. The lens works very well in lower light and offers nice bokeh in both videos and portraits. The lens focuses pretty fast but does produce a little subtle noise while focusing. Its quiet, though, and wont be audible when recording audio if an external microphone is used. Bottom line: Its better than I expected and Im glad I bought it.

I purchased this lens for my Canon EOS Rebel T6 after seeing a review about it by Peter McKinnon on YouTube. Since receiving it in the mail, it has been a lens that I use for almost any shot (keep in mind that I do have a 1.6x crop due to the fact that the Canon EOS Rebel T6 does not have a full-frame sensor, but an APS-C sensor, making the crop factor for this 50mm become 80mm). The shallow depth of field achieved by a f/1.8 aperture is outstanding, and even when set to a much higher aperture, perhaps f/16, the quality of the image is just as great. As for the make of the lens, it is sturdy with a mix between metal and plastic, and discreet enough for potential street photography. My bottom line is that for any photographer, amateur, intermediate, or professional, I would highly recommend this lens. *I have included some images I captured for reference to its great quality.

These Lenses are an amazing product and I highly recommend getting them if you have a low budget but still want pro level quality for your pictures. Im a photographer who takes many portraits for people and the 50mm does a terrific job of giving the exact amount of clearity and sharpness I need for my shots. The 10-18mm is super for those wide shots of groups or landscapes. I really love them both. If you are on the fence about buying one or the other, just get them both now, they really are worth the discount together.

I searched and searched, and you can trust me that I did indeed search (ebay, Craigslist, local stores, online stores...) and this is just a really great deal for two lenses for amateur photogs. Really picky and techy pros would want higher quality, but if youre just the average senior portrait or wedding photog who makes a few hundred dollars per gig and you need a portrait lens, this is a great deal. A solid portrait lens and its like getting the landscape lens for free.
