This is my first fisheye lens so it is hard to compare to anything I havent used yet. The body of the lens is well made and you can feel it the weight and materials. It feels solid. Ive found it best to use in daylight or well-lit situations. In the sunlight its good to go! If youre going to use it indoors at a dance club or something like that you might need a flash. 3.0 is the limit when adjusting the aperture so youll have to experiment with that and your film speed and use what light you have to your advantage. Using it to capture murals can be fun and Ive attached a pic. Can be fun for some action shots as well. Not sure how well it works with video.

I was really hoping to like this camera lens but was very disappointed in the picture quality. Everything was out of focus and was unable to zoom in on anything. I found it hard to manually adjust the lens to be of any use for my photography needs.

Build quality of the lens is excellent. Focus and aperture rings are very smooth to turn with no binding what so ever. Mounted the lens on my 7D and the photographs are sharp with excellent color and contrast. The lens is 100% manual but is extremely easy to use. I set my camera to AV mode, aperture ring to 5.6 and adjust the focus ring to 3 feet and let the camera choose the shutter speed.

You get what you pay for. I dont often find the need for a fisheye, so I didnt want to spend $1000 on something that had minimal vignetting and was super-fast. The Altura does the job, especially when used in tandem with my Metabones Speedbooster with gives me an extra 1/3 of a stop. Tons of vignetting (granted, it is an 8mm lens) and not sharp at all (good luck getting a focus with the aperture wide open...), but it does the job when I need an "artsy" close-up for a music video or something.

The lens is very heavy and not cheap plastic. I like that I can change the apurture manually on the lens. This is not well suited for low light. Its not tack sharp, but close enough. The distortion is something to get used to... Software can fix this somewhat in post-production, but for video, note that the least warping is in the middle. Its smooth when focusing, which is great for video, but it takes a while to turn it enough and keep up with fast subjects. This is NOT autofocus.

I have always wanted a good fisheye lens and I was finally able to get this for my Canon 80D. I watched the Digital Goja video on YouTube to learn how to use it. I played with it in both manual and AV modes. It will take some time to get used to because there is no communication with the camera body. I am in complete control of each shot. The distortion depends on the shooting angle and each photo can be amazing. Luckily I have lots of learning time before my trip to the Grand Canyon this spring.

Great for the price. I have used on full frame with the circular vignette and on APS-C A6000 without it and image quality is great on both. Only issue is a quite loose de-clicked aperture ring means that often I go back to camera and it has changed aperture without me realising. Focus ring is solid, no such issue. Perhaps they should go with a clicked aperture ring to stop it turning involuntarily as you handle your camera.

I was a little skeptical on this lens because there is NO information on it other then what Digital Goja has put out there. The lens is well built and fits well on my Canon T6i. I have used it both day and night and gotten some of my best photos with it. I need to use it more and will update my review if anything changes.

As many people have mentioned, this works with an APS-C camera. I loved the capability of the lens indoors (decent lighting) and outdoors. I bought it primarily for receptions at weddings. However, I wanted to test run it at Comicon first to see how versatile it was. Ive attached some pictures for you all to look at. I shot these photos with my T3i. The T3i is an older APS-C Canon body, so its really pushed to the max in low light. You may have better luck in low light situations with a current APS-C camera. However, I was not disappointed at all with how the photos came out in low light. My only word of caution is to those who do not like to get into peoples faces for photos. Depending on the type of angle you want, you may very well be right in front of the persons face to get a good shot of what you want. Overall, Im impressed with the quality. Ive shot with the Canon zoom fisheye. Honestly, the only reason you should be getting the Canon zoom fisheye is if you want to shoot on a non-crop camera body.

It surprised me how well build and solid this lens is. It is a beauty. A heavy one though. It is heavier than my 77D because it is made from steel. Even though it is a manual lens it is very easy to use. One only needs to set the focus manually when shooting very close objects, otherwise just set focus to infinity and almist every shot will be sharp. There also is a wheel to set aperture which in case of a fish eye lens mostly controls how much light is let in, field of depth doesnt really play a role in most situations. I think the price is very fair and it comes with a protection case and a cleaning cloth, which is nice. Im happy with this lens, it is a lot of fun to do fish eye photos and trippy videos. I have nothing bad to say about this lens, it does what it should and its robustly manufactured. It is waterproof too as it doesnt contain any electronics.
