I rarely write reviews. I saw some rad photos of this and decided to give it a try... for $70, worth the risk right? Holy cow this thing is amazing. I love fully manual lenses and had a lot of old nikon primes that were stolen. This lens reminds me of the old nikon glass. I love it. Unique bokah, Ive shot a few photos and videos with this lens on both my A7S and A6300 and the footage looks as beautiful as the photos. Honestly, at F1.8, this lens is more crisp than my nikon ever was. This is an APS-C lens, so if you have an A7S, make sure to put it in APS-C mode or crop it in post.

Are you kidding me? This is the best little lens I have EVER owned... I showed this off to all the photographers at work and they are amazed. Take a look at the photos yourself. I did not edit them to look good (I wanted a toy to replace my kit lens that broke, on my alpha a6000....but this is NO toy.. Im not repurchasing a kit lens, this is my favorite lens. And for $69.99?????????????? This lens works better than my $300 kit lens. My god. (I just hope it lasts a long time, and doesnt die out like my crap kit lens did) Take a look. *excite*

Very good quality lens. Nice and sharp manual focus and aperture. I really had fun with this manual lens. It is so overwhelming to play with the focus and the blurriness it can have. Ive got some nice pictures during my trip to NYC and Miami as soon as i bought it. Take a look at some photos i put here. Check out some of my photos on instagram @guiccunha :) Any questions, just let me know. ps: the photos i put here i edited on vsco and add a lot of grain while i was travelling, otherwise i would have edited on lightroom.

I have a AF 18-105 wanted something smaller and wanted to play around with manual It definitely doesnt come in as sharp compared to my sony glass but I do like the lens effect it has for a certain mood in my pictures Probably wouldnt ever use in a professional setting but as a second piece of glass its fun to have in my backpack

I bought this because Sonys only autofocus large aperture ~35mm-equivalent lens is hilariously over priced and I wanted to try manual focus. This is terrific option. Its easy to focus accurately with my a6300s peaking and punch-in focus, and you just get a feel for it after a while. Sharpness? Well, its adequate but I dont do critical work with this, its more for fun. I also love that its tiny and very easy to drop in my pocket.

As expected. I tested this on a Sony full frame (though it is for cropped sensors) but outcome is reasonable. This lens has little vignetting on corners but I could live with it. It is not super fact sharp but it’s perfect for food blogging, and a cute travel lens. It’s worth the money.

This is my first lens I buy for every new system I try, luckily the systems I try have this lens in their mount. I love this lens. Its great to play with and the fact that such a wide angle lens lets in a lot of light is amazing. This is close to my perfect lens if it had autofocus. The all metal build is great and my focus ring is great and has a pretty good throw. Optics are superb for the price and it is very sharp in the center wide open. Shoot at F/2.8-5.6 for more stellar results. Great first lens, dont be scared to shoot manual!

I use this exclusively on an infrared converted camera. There are no hot spots. It is a decent walk-around focal length for landscapes, and it focuses pretty close - almost 6" from the subject. The focus ring turns smoothly. Oddly, the aperture ring is not indexed (it turns smoothly, which I guess is pretty good for video), so, I cannot count clicks to know where Ive moved it to.

I was a bit skeptical but am extremely happy I jumped the gun on this lens. Now Im not a professional photographer or videographer but I have passion for both. This lens replaced my kit lens, I was worried that for the price it wouldnt be much of an upgrade but I was wrong. I get that beautiful creamy bokeh in videos and pictures (I have attached sample photos taken with the Sony a5000 using this lens) Overall I would rate this lens 5 stars. Great build great picture and video!!!

Not bad for a cheap lens. I took some shots at different ranges, f/stops, lowest ISO, and used a 10-stop ND filter for fun. My assessment is pretty good. If you want to purchase a cheaper lens that gives good photos and/or videos. This is for you. Although, its all depends on the user.
