I was searching the market for a wide angle lens. I want to do more vlogging so it’s a must with the Nikon D5100. I’m currently using the standard VR 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G. All of the lenses I found were way out of my price range. Until i saw this product. The Alturo Photo .43X WIDE ANGLE HD LENS ATTACHMENT. The delivery was pretty fast two days with my Prime account. The product is made of metal and the build is very nice. It’s very sturdy and durable. It do any feel cheap. The look of it does not match with its price. I paid 24.99 for this product and it looks more expensive than that. I’d say at least $75 The quality of the wide angle is perfect for vlogging. It does add a bit of weight to the camera as a whole when holding the unit with one hand. However a two handed photo shot should be fine. You might need a strap for this. The BONUS detachable SUPER MACRO lens was an awesome surprise. I didn’t know i needed a macro lens until i used it and saw the detail in the photos. Great addition. So that’s two lenses for $25 bucks. When i was looking to pay over $200 for one. Pretty great deal in my opinion. The only reason i did not give it 5 stars is because of the weight. And also the fact that you can’t just attach the Wide Angle lens to your lens, you have to have the Super Macro attached. But u don’t need the Wide Angle to use the Super Macro. Not sure how u would accomplish this: lessen the weight and make them both independent units. Overall, i would say get it. For $25 bucks it’s a steal. Nothing to lose with this purchase. I will upload more photos once i have them done. Here are a few of the lens attached to the camera and on their own. Good product. Great Price. Great Quality.

I used a Nikon D5500 w/ the 17-55mm Kit Lens. I didnt want to at first buy an actual wide angle lens and bought this for more of the experience of how would it look through my shots from a kit lens. I had a bad experience with this in terms of spinning it down the threads of my lens, the wide angle adapter would then be stuck also for when i do want to remove it from my lens. The shots I would take itself would be a hit or miss in good pics or bad and that would really matter too since in photography, each second counts during each shot. I wouldnt want to wake up extra early to catch the sunrise and the shots I got had major vignetting or wasnt focused due to the threading wasnt on all the way. PROs: - You get that wide angle feel from a regular lens. - Good concept, as if it was like those wide angles for phones. - You can also spin off the wide angle and have a macro glass CONs: - Threading would get stuck and sometimes you would be stuck from trying to figure a way to remove it off the lenses you attach it to - Vignetting is strong here, zoom in to adjust - Sometimes my camera wont focus through the wide angle so, i had to manual focus.

I wanted a way to take pictures in my house and get more of the room in one shot, especially for small rooms with only one door entrance. Taking the photo from inside the door opening just didnt let me get the entire room with the stock 18-55 mm lens zoomed all the way out to 18mm. This was just enough to make the difference and allows me to get almost the entire room in the frame from the doorway. You cant zoom all the way out to 18mm or you start to get vignetting around the corners. One other thing I noticed is that if the stock flash is being used and is providing most of the light in the shot (for example, when photographing a dimly-lit room), the lens appears to cast a shadow on the lower portion of the frame. Using more ambient light solves this so its not a big deal, but something to be aware of. Otherwise, the macro lens also works well for close-up shots and the wide angle adapter is just enough to make some tight interior shots easier. Since Im not a pro, a $25 adapter is perfect for my needs vs. a several-hundred-dollar standalone wide-angle lens.

I absolutely LOVE it! I bought it as an attachment for my 50mm 1.8 Nikon lens in the 58mm size. I also purchased the adapter ring so I could use it with my 18-55mm kit lens that came with my Nikon D5200. It takes clear, crisp photos and gives me plenty to play with. I do wish I could use JUST the wide angle portion alone (which is the ONLY reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5) but Im still happy with the purchase. Ive used it on macro only and it takes incredible close ups. The detail is wonderful. And then using it with the wide angle, I was able to capture some great pics as well. Ive tried to attach pics - not sure if they will work but I wanted to include them so you can see the quality. /Users/CarlaEzell/Desktop/Angel.jpg Taken with wide angle and macro up close /Users/CarlaEzell/Desktop/Sunset on the Delaware6.jpg taken with wide angle and macro from a distance /Users/CarlaEzell/Desktop/Wellsboro, Pa/Fingerprint.jpg take with only the macro

Pretty good. It is NOT its own lense, it goes on existing lenses (58mm). But it works pretty well, making a standard or telephoto lense into a wide angle, and the price is really good. BE CAREFUL, though. Do NOT use auto focus with this extension as you can break your autofocus motor. Do NOT be zoomed all the way in, be at about half way zoomed out if not using on a fixed/prime lens.

Wide Angle: Makes for really noisy and color fractured pics. Red and Blue hazes appear during outdoor use, never could get it quite in focus, manual/or auto. Bought in hopes to take a wide angle of a small room and couldnt quite squeeze in a 14x14ft space without the black loop appearing. Really nothing usable has been taken with this lens on. Macro: The Macro lens is decent for closeups. Field of view is short, but to be expected. If you need to get closer to something than your D-SLR can, this will help and not distort your image too much. Overall fun for some experiments, but nothing good enough to keep or share the results. Guess thats why good lenses are $200+

Product results do not match the description, there is no difference in picture layout/quality with the lens vs a normal lens. The pictures come out with a round outline. I would not recomend. I contacted the company and the Cust. Srvc was better than the product. Offered to replace product and give refund. Another thing I didnt like was being asked by the comp. to update my review and star rating. It would not be fair to other customers if I lied.

I filled the frame of a foto horizontally and measured the width of the object and the distance from the camera to the object I could calculate the view angle, via trigonometry. Where d = camera to object distance & W = Width of object & w = W/2 View angle = 2*(arctan (w/d)) Fotos of tape measure & shed do not give expected results. Foto FocalLength Field Width Obj.Distance ViewAngle # mm mm mm degrees Tape 6 24x0.43=10 522 334 76 Tape 8 50x0.43=21. 245 334 40 Shed 9 24x0.43 3062 1146 106 Shed 10 50x0.43 3062 2905 56 Horizontal View angle for 12 mm lens = 111 ° & for 20mm = 82°. Help! I am doing something wrong. TIA

Was not cheap plastic, but quality of image is not good. It is blurry at edges. I have a 18-55mm zoom and this does not really get any wider and creates too much distortion. To go any wider with it has black out corners. You are better off to spend the money on a real wide angle lens

I’m not any sort of professional photographer at all. But picked up a Nikon D3400 to document family stuff and vacations, and then began collecting lenses to go with it and try to advance my camera and photo taking skills. I bought a 50mm 1.18g lens and loved the quality, but noticed I had to really step back away from subjects to get them to fit in the frame when taking photos. So I stopped using the camera altogether until it came across my mind to look for a wide angle lens. I did a quick amazon search and Altura came up first. Read the reviews and saw the photos, and for the great price I thought ‘why not try it?’ I honestly don’t know how I didn’t think to look for a wide angle lens before! This lens works so beautifully with my 50mm lens and adds so much more into the frame when I take photos. I saw some reviews complain that they saw a ring when they took photos with the lens but as you can see from the photo I attached I did not experience that at all. I was definitely careful to purchase the correct type of lens that had matching thread with current lens so maybe that’s why others had issues? But super happy with my purchase and the sellers are great too. I lost my lens cap and sent them a message to see if I could buy one, and they sent me a replacement one within a couple of days!
