Final Update: I no longer have the t4i and have had the Canon 80D for a while now and this flash still works. I also uploaded a photo showing some of the power it can deliver.. the tunnel shot was completely black.. this photo I use one step down from full power and had the flash angled a little higher.. I cant find the photo I took of the full power shot with the direction straight down the tunnel but this still gives the idea of what it can do. I just took it to see if I could reach down the tunnel. UPDATE: I have had this long enough to do a lot of messing with it. The photo I uploaded was using this Speedlite Flash. I think it came out great. Also attached is a photo of it attached to my Canon t4i (650d). Also, it has 2 slave modes and comes with a stand so you can use it as filler light from the side or wherever. I have verified that it fires off quick and works exactly as it should as a slave I have seen people say that you need high end flashes etc.. While I do not consider myself a "Professional" photographer, I have found that so far this has been great. Fits on my Canon t4i (650D) and I prefer manual so this is what I need. I cant justify spending $200-$300 for an External Flash.. This does what I need and does it well for the price.

I almost gave this flash 4 stars, but, after thinking about, its a five star item for the price. Im a professional photographer who mainly shoots editorial work and events. I have several Canon flashes, a Yongnuo 560 II, and, now, this Neewer unit. Of all the flashes I own, this Neewer NW-561 is the less well-built of them all, but for such a low price, I dont think anyone could expect much different. Its not "cheap" per se, but its not built like a rock-solid, flagship speedlite either. Pros: - Price - Ease of use - Power (seems to be at least 1/2 a stop brighter than my other flashes) - Built in slave (a must-have feature these days) - Large, bright display - Comes with a white "dome" diffusor (I leave this thing on the flash virtually at all times) Cons: - No zoom option - Somewhat flimsy build For the price, this flash simply cant be beat. Right now with Prime its $39.99. I think even the latest Yongnuo is $70. Id get two of these rather than one Yongnuo. (The attached photo I shot with this flash through a soft box.)

This is a fantastic flash at a fantastic price. You cannot go wrong with this purchase. Its easy to use, the digital display is simple and easy to figure out even for amateurs, the flash head moves in all different directions so you can aim your light exactly where you need it to go, it has a built-in flash diffuser, It fits basically any DSLR camera with a hot shoe, it has many different settings, and it helps you take beautiful pictures. I highly recommend this product to anybody, professional or amateur who wants to take good pictures with a decent flash.

I was skeptical with all the talk about these flashes being flimsy. i found it to be a strong build. definatly glad i went with the 561 over the 560. the back lit display is great. i found shooting in lowest setting is fine for the events i did last weekend. shooting in lowest setting should also allow for more shooting and less recovery time for the flash. overall im happy with this purchase. great item for the cost. i would buy another one. havent shot with a canon flash so i have nothing really to compare this with but im happy.

Love this little flash! It makes all the difference in low light situations!! I also bought a diffuser to go with it and love them together! Easy to use! Just one quick tip, make sure your shutter speed isn’t too high or you’ll get a crazy black curtain in your pictures. Took me a few takes and YouTube to figure it out. Great value, super happy with my purchase.

I have not used the flash much yet. I think the product is fine quality. The real downfall of this product is that the instruction manual was clearly written by a non-native English speaker. So, prepare to be mystified when you read the instructions, especially if this if your first flash.

I could have spent a lot more money on another speedlight, but needing to save money, I did a bit of research and found that Neewer has a good reputation, and the reviews for this particular flash are very good. Since receiving it, Im very pleased to have acquired such a decent quality flash at such a great price. Neewer NW-561 LCD Display Speedlite Flash for All DSLR Cameras with Standard Hot Shoe

Handy speedlite for the hobbyist who wants something better than the pop-up built in flash but who doesnt want to spend a lot on a professional or "prosumer" model. Wish it had a little bit wider range of settings, but at its price point I cant complain.

For a budget flash you cant go wrong. Fits nicely in my Nikon D7000, looks good and puts out good amount of light. Manual controls to adjust it and sturdy swivel to bounce off walls and ceilings. The beeping sound it makes is annoying but you can turn that off. Doesnt recycle as fast as an expensive Nikon or Canon brand flashes but its a minor inconvenience. Its great for someone new to using flashes and off camera lighting and buying 3 or 4 is still more than half the price of a Nikon/Canon flash

Mind bending value. I cannot fathom how Neewer can sell it so cheap even if its made in China. Nikon flashes are made in China too and they are way more expensive. Ive been disappointed more times than not on cheap gear but this flash is truly an exception. The NW-561 is a great flash at any price. Yes its a tad bulky but feels pretty substantial especially given its crazy low price. Light output is relatively high and the controls are super easy to figure out. Yes the manual is almost useless due to poor translating but fortunately you dont need it since its easy to figure out the controls. It has programmable sync strobe capability which is surprising at this low price; I have flashes that cost substantially more that do not. I am using it as a basic slave at the moment and as a slave it works flawlessly with no misses. Recycle time is fast and the backlit LCD screen is a bonus. I run all of my speedlights in manual so not having TTL capability isnt an issue for me. The users manual does suggest a cool down if you are performing lengthy consecutive fires which Im sure extends longevity. I cant attest to its reliability since I havent had it that long but so far its a solid flash. I am recommending this to my friends and family. Below $150 its a no brainer; below $50 its a steal.
