I have always been a brand snob. Meaning I have a Nikon camera and only wanted to use Nikon Speedlights. I have owned the SB-800, SB-900, and SB-910. A friend of mine introduced me to Godox and told me that they are just as good if not better than Nikon speedlights. I decided to give it a try. The Godox V860ii-N was a pleasant surprise. I find that it performs better than the any of my Nikon speedlights. It can do everything that a Nikon speedlight can and more. You can use it in TTL mode, or Manual, It comes with a built in 2.4ghz wireless radio transmission system which allows it to operate seamlessly with other Godox products that feature the same Wireless X system. So there is room to grow your lighting equipment setup. Besides the Wireless X system, it also has Nikons Optical Wireless System, so it can communicate with my Nikon speedlights if needed so it doesnt necessarily make my Nikons obsolete. The guide number is 190 compared to 95 for the Nikon SB-910, which means it is more powerful. With its lithium ion battery the recycle time is 1.5 seconds while the Nikon SB-910 is 2.1 seconds. Also, with their proprietary battery, no more having to changing your AA batteries in the middle of a shoot or event. The build quality feels nice and solid. It doesnt seem cheap or flimsy as I would have originally thought. Bottom line, Godox is just as good as Nikon if not better but the best part is the price is a fraction of the Nikon! Ive included photos that i took with the Godox V860II-N

I am so glad that I stumbled across this speedlite!! I am a professional photographer that has tried and tested many brands of speed lights. I was reluctant at first due to the really affordable price. But once I tested this light, I literally was jumping up and down. The speed light is powerful on the lowest output. Its heavy and doesnt feel like it would fall aprt at the slightest unlike some flashes that I have purchased in the past. This Nikon compatible speed light has TTL and HSS options which were easy to change settings. The TTL exposures were truly on point. I use a monopod setup with a octabox modifier and the light it produces is awesome for that "continuous light" look. I will be purchasing another one really soon. Compared to other inexpensive brands, this speed light has so many more functions and options for a better price. Amazing Speedlite! The Lithium battery is awesome. I used this at 3 weddings already and it worked from start to finish without a misfire and without changing out the battery. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 6 stars is the lack of support from Godox. Update: Support of Godox products purchase from Amazon are suppose to go through the distributor. I have been dealing with Emgreat and I now have the confidence I need and feel comfortable that if I have a warranty or repair issue, I will get support. Therefire, I have updated my review to 5 stars. These flashes are a amazing!

Ive used these for half a dozen weddings since I bought them a few weeks ago... They are AMAZING. The only flaw I see is that they are a little complicated to operate, and you will have to memorize the buttons and their functions, unless you want to spend half an hour re-figuring out the order in which youre supposed to press everything. (If youre familiar with foreign-made speedlites, most of this will come naturally to you, and to be fair, it is still easier to use than many of its competitors.) Someone in the reviews said that you cant control the power output of the other slaved flashes... Thats not true, I do it all the time. These are excellent flashes, and are very well built. Though not perfect, they are the best all-in-one package that exists at the moment.

Reliability is important to me. Whether in your everyday life or in photography if you cannot rely on something to work as it is supposed to, then much of the time you are simply S.O.L. Thank goodness I’ve been able to rely on Godox, and their unique brand of versatile lighting over the last year. I’ve always been trepedacious about working with “budget flashes,” because in the past I’ve had significant reliability issues. Not so with Godox. When I first received my FLASH UNIT I quickly put it to work, shooting a wedding (see photos) right away. After easily navigating the user friendly menu before the wedding I was able to quickly differentiate between the different modes, and manipulated the power output beautifully in the various rooms I had to shoot in, which has been an issue in the past with cheaper “off brand” flashes. I shoot a lot of everything, but mainly glamour models, and the most important thing I needed to get from Godox was reliable lighting for shooting this style of photography. And the results are in…Godox for the win! Whether I’m shooting a glam model, wedding or a commercial shoot Godox has come through for me without incident, and I couldn’t be more happy to scream my loyalty to Godox for all to hear. I will never again judge a book, or a budget flash, by its cover again. Thank you Godox for making all of your equipment, whether it be your higher end strobes or budget flashes, durable and reliable.

I had Opportunity to test this product for couple of days and I can say it seems to me great flash. I own Nikon speedlight flashes sb900, sb910, sb600, sb400. Godox V860II comunicates with my flashes without any problems, correctly and using it is very simple and easy. Build quality is ok (not like nikon flashes), but for this price point I can say its the best flash in the market today. Lion battery is excellent. Ill update my opinion after testing in real life future, but till now I like it very much

Not as powerful as the failed Nikon flash, but powerful enough. Works well for real estate photos. Fairly easy to grasp graphic interface. Love the battery life, lets me shoot hundreds of HDRs without having to tote around a bag of AAs. People will gripe that it isnt the same as a Nikon. So? It isnt a Nikon Speedlight, its a better value for the money.

I bought this item on January 7th, and now less than 4 months later it’s dead. It makes a loud whining sound when turning on and then just displays “E1” on the screen and provides no functionality.

I really LOVED the IDEA of this flash. A lithium ion battery was EXACTLY what I needed to shoot events and weddings. BOTH flashes FAILED within minutes of use. NOTHING worked to get them back on track. And there was no pattern to identify what the problem maybe...sometimes itll work then itll go either several shots or several minutes without firing at all. VERY disappointed. Returning and getting a refund. I cant take these kind of risk with my business.

I used this for months of occasional use before I had to recharge the battery. Its very quick to recycle between shots.
