Great device but
Such a great gadget, lots of features that are free unlike other brands, user friendly. Can also say customer service is amazing. However I really wish garmin came out with different straps for this watch in terms of material, like maybe steel or nylon? As it has given me a really painful rash that almost looks like a burn? And im definitely not wearing the strap tight at all.
Some good features
It flashes at night. But hey, I get to see my steps and what time it is.
Great Features & quiet
The Force Trolling motor has a strong motor and pulls my boat at 3 uphill at the highest speed! Fast response and strong. Best Trolling motor I've ever purchased hands down!
Function is great--form is meh
Got this to be a fitness tracker with a small profile. Functions really well. But the band is not at all good for me. PROs: i have a Samsung phone. This is great for steps, walking time, heart rate, weather & sleep cycles. The app works well too. Some things are customizable. CONs: The strap part where the extra length is meant to be held by a separate perpendicular section was too thick. Especially where it meets the skin side. Left a mark that lasted 7-10 days after wearing it a full 24-48 hrs. So I cut it off. I used sticky velcro instead. More comfortable for me anyway. I included 2 pics for reference. I wear it 24-7 except to shower. I give it an 8/10. If you have an Apple iPhone I would read the reviews first.

I love the watch, the body battery is the best ...the heart rate monitor is not as accurate as my chest monitor...but I wear it daily

Great Trolling Motor
Switched from a Terrova, didn’t really think there would be much difference. Well i was wrong, from every aspect this trolling motor is superior and better. Quiet, 2xs the power, deployment easier. Will never get a different brand again. Plus the transducer and wire come on it, and communicates with my chartplotters etc….. if you go Garmin you wont be disappointed with whatever it is your buying in my opinion.

Vivosmart5 is great!
I never realized how many steps I put in at work. I'm amazed at all the things this watch monitors. I'm still learning, but all is positive. I especially appreciate that I can wear it in the shower or even swimming. There are quite a variety of band replacements available as well.
A Difference
For me Garmin 5 makes a difference. I find myself walking more 10,000 steps a day. I even walk in my apartment. I enjoy seeing all the different details it presents, especially calories.
It was time to upgrade (1 level)
For years I wore Garmin vivofit 3 & 4, and while their batteries lasted, it was all the technology I needed in a fitness tracker. The trouble is that it was impossible to get the cases opened to change the batteries when the time came. So I would just buy another one. Finally there were no vivofit 4's available, so I bit the bullet and ordered the vivosmart 5. I've been wearing it now for 2 weeks, and am happy with my purchase; again, I don't need too much technology, so this was a smart choice for me. Besides, I have very small wrists, so a bigger, more robust model is too hard to wear. It was easy to set up, and learn some of the features that my previous model didn't have. Since I was already a Garmin user, I had my Garmin Connect app already set up, and when I paired my vivosmart 5 the old selections stayed in place and the new features populated pretty easily. And, since it's rechargeable, I expect I'll have it more than a year. Note I did buy some additional bands as you see in this picture.
