DO NOT PREORDER WITH TARGET
Preordered this game with Target due to the advertised preorder bonuses of DLC and an exclusive steelbook. There were no options to pick up in store on day of release (about 0.5 miles from my house), only to ship to my address. The game arrived yesterday (5 full days after release with no steelbook). I chatted with support and was transferred to "an expert" who informed me that there were no preorder bonuses for this game with Target, a claim that is easily disproven with a simple Google search. In summary, this was a terrible experience that touched on poor timing, poor internal systems, and incompetant customer support.

The game is great so far! Received a dented Steelbook, though...
I'm really enjoying the game. I wasn't gonna let all the criticism that people have been giving this game stop me from getting it since I've been wanting an AC set in Japan for so long. It's definitely a step up from AC Valhalla and Mirage as well. Especially Valhalla, I don't know how many times I tried to play that one and just couldn't get into it, but this one, AC Shadows. It's got me hooked. The world, the story so far, the gameplay. Yeah, it may be a Ubisoft game, but it's good. I just wish my Steelbook was in better condition. That and the game itself which came in it's original case we're both shipped in some cheap, plain envelope. They couldn't even bother using a bubble wrap envelope to try to protect my item. Fortunately the game still came in good condition, but the small dent is bugging me cause it just isn't gonna go well with the other small collection video game Steelbooks I've getting over the years. Anyways, rant over. If you're thought about trying the game, pick it up when you get the chance.

The Creed Finally In Japan
Steelbook and game arrived on release day, late evening. I purchased the digital deluxe edition too though, I didn’t want to miss out. I’ve just played the prologue so far, and started my settlement. That feature confuses me, there are no hoods in cutscenes like Odyssey ???? or corridor confessions like when you take out your target, like Kjotve in Valhalla. Also the button scheme is different like square and circle. Dodge and crouch are vice versa, just a few nitpicks I have. Oh yeah, the modern day is almost nonexistent, no character like Desmond or Layla to control. Other than that, the game looks great the character models especially. I recommend it for any AC fan, or RPG Action Adventure genre player.
