Description
Vertical stand sold separately. With the PlayStation 5 Pro console, the world’s greatest game creators can enhance their games with incredible features like advanced ray tracing, super sharp image clarity for your 4K TV, and high frame rate gameplay.* That means you get to play PS5 games with the most impressive visuals ever possible on a PlayStation console.

*Features only available on select PS5 games that have been enhanced for PS5 Pro when compared with PS5. PS5 Pro enhanced features will vary by game. 23D audio via built-in TV speakers or analog/USB stereo headphones. Set up required.

3A portion of the SSD is reserved for system software and other functions so the available SSD capacity may vary.

4Internet connection required to pair Disc Drive and PS5® Pro console upon setup.

5There are a small number of PS4 games that are not compatible with PS5 Pro. Please visit playstation.com/bc for the list of games.

6Account for PlayStation™Network required. Full terms apply – playstation.com/PSNTerms.

7HDMI® 2.1 VRR-compatible TV or PC monitor required. Results may vary depending on the TV you are using and game you are playing. If enabling VRR results in any unexpected visual effects, you can turn it off at any time. You can also choose to apply VRR to PS5 games that are not officially compatible, which may improve video quality for some games. If enabling VRR results in any unexpected visual effects, you can turn it off at any time.

81440p video output on PS5 Pro requires a TV or PC monitor that supports 1440p/60Hz, or 1440p/60Hz and 120Hz. Even games that are not natively 1440p or higher resolution can benefit from upscaling through the PS5 Pro console to that resolution.

9A compatible router is required to access enhanced wireless internet. In addition to IEEE 802.11be, PS5 Pro is also compatible with Wi-Fi 6, and Wi-Fi 5 routers. Wireless internet performance will depend on the user’s network environment. Online gaming performance will vary by game, and not all games have online features.

10A TV or monitor that supports 2160p(4K)/60hz output, or 1440p/60hz output, is required to use this feature.

11In addition to having 8K/60Hz compatibility, connected displays must also support Display Stream Compression (DSC) to run titles in 8K.

I'm a believer now
Worth every penny. Games look better and run better than they do on my PS5 slim. Currently using the disc drive and stand from my PS5 slim for my pro so saved money there, will sell PS5 slim and use the money for even more games.

My final pro console.
Mine also came like “bri” (in the comments) but I don’t think it’s used. It came on the second day after ordering it!

Worth every penny spent
The PS5 Pro is Sony’s most powerful console yet, delivering substantial upgrades over the original PS5. I paid $699 (it’s now $749 after a recent price increase), and honestly, it feels worth every dollar. If you’re someone who values top-tier performance and visuals, the PlayStation 5 Pro absolutely delivers. Key Specifications * CPU: 10%+ higher clock speeds than the PS5 * GPU: ~45% more powerful, delivering better ray tracing and higher frame rates * RAM: Additional 2GB dedicated to system operations * Storage: 2TB internal SSD * Display Support: Up to 8K resolution, 120Hz, VRR * Connectivity: Wi-Fi 7 support * AI Technology: PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) for enhanced image clarity * Backward Compatibility: Improved performance across 8,500+ PS4 titles Pros 1. Enhanced Performance
The PS5 Pro’s GPU reaches up to 18.05 teraflops, a major jump from the standard PS5’s 10.28. This results in smoother gameplay, superior ray tracing, and higher frame rates, especially at 4K. 2. Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) Upscaling
PSSR upscales lower-resolution content while maintaining sharpness, benefiting both older titles and games not fully optimized for the Pro. 3. Ample Storage
With a 2TB SSD, players can store more modern, large-sized games without relying heavily on external drives—a big upgrade from the base PS5’s 825GB. 4. Wi-Fi 7 Support
Ensures faster, more reliable online connectivity for downloads and multiplayer gaming. 5. Improved Cooling and Design
A refined cooling system and quieter design help maintain stable performance during long sessions. Cons 1. High Price Point
At $699 (now $749), it’s a hefty investment. Many current games don’t fully leverage its enhanced specs, making it harder to justify for casual players. 2. Limited Enhanced Game Library
Only select titles currently support the PS5 Pro’s advanced features, so its full potential isn’t yet realized. 3. No Built-in Disc Drive
Users who want physical media must purchase the drive separately, increasing overall cost. 4. Potential Overkill for Casual Gamers
Without a high-end 4K/8K display with 120Hz and VRR, the benefits may not be fully appreciated. Considerations * Price vs. Value: Some question whether the incremental upgrades justify the cost, especially with the PlayStation 6 on the horizon. * Enhanced Game Support: Limited number of optimized titles may reduce immediate appeal. * Disc Drive Omission: Absence of a built-in drive could frustrate players with physical game libraries. Verdict
The PlayStation 5 Pro is a powerhouse, delivering cutting-edge performance and strong future-proofing for upcoming titles. With its upgraded GPU, PSSR upscaling, and expanded storage, it’s an attractive option for dedicated gamers who have the right setup. However, its steep price and the currently limited library of optimized games mean it won’t be the best fit for everyone—especially casual players or those satisfied with the base PS5. For enthusiasts seeking the ultimate console experience today, the PS5 Pro is a worthwhile investment.

The best PlayStation
I broke my ps5 that was from 2021 and was going to replace it with the same version (except they have a Slim model now but it’s basically the same hardware) - but once I seen this Pro version, I decided to future proof my investment, and purchase the best available PS5. It’s expensive but it will last 3 years until the PS6 is available. Setup was easy, and I was able to add the disc drive and stand.
