Brilliant bit of kit
Excellent picture and absolutely stunning on xbox Wish I had bought one sooner, next purchase is the sony 8 soundboard.
Sony picture quality is hard to beat.
I have always had Sony TVs from the early Trinitrons in the very early 80s so I guess you could say I'm very pro Sony TVs. This Bravia 65" 8a replaces a 10 year old 55" Bravia 4k which was a fine TV but the Apps like iPlayer,Plex etc were no longer supported. The 8a is an amazing machine which is very easy to use, has loads of apps, has sound coming from the screen itself which can be synched with my audio system. The picture has always been Sony's strength and this TV has an excellent natural deep and smooth picture driven by the XR processor. It certainly does everything on the tin. My only reservation is this new Bravia does not do 3D movies like my old Bravia

It's a great TV but a little bit complicated to get the right picture
sadly tv stopped working after 24 hrs
The TV stopped working the next day. Unfortunately I've got to wait over 2 weeks for a replacement. I wish Sony could be just as fast with return policy as they do with purchases. Thanks. The Bravia 8 was a delight to set up and experience is well worth in opting for a replacement.

Sony Cost Cutters
Had it a month now and needed a full factory reset as the usb ports stopped working.TV is lovely with one all too common exception. It's a high quality TV but Sony have cut corners to save money. Why oh why don't they provide all 4 HDMI with the 120Hz this TV deserves. 1 is reserved for the ARC soundbar system which only leaves 1 of the remaining 3 ports with the quality 120Hz ports. If like me you have a firestick as well as a TV Box you have a dilemma. Which one gets the it. Your only option is to buy an HDMI splitter box to share the port but if you do that make sure you buy one with a remote control otherwise you'll have to keep getting up to manually switch between the boxes because the first Switcher I bought was advertised as an auto switcher (with no remote needed) which can detect you switching to another input and auto switch to it. Only it can't because firesticks do not fully power down rendering the auto switch unable to switch. This type of annoying 'get around' could all have been avoided if Sony were to make all 4 HDMI inputs the high quality 120Hz ports we should be given. Hope this helps you make a happy purchase without the disappointment of realising what else you need to look into.
