I purchase this TV to replace my CRT on which the brightness and contrast cannot be increased any more and the picture often turns dull yellow. What a difference in the picture and sound. Even the black and white shows look fantastic. This is a great TV for the money and it has very simple and basic features. Its perfect for me because I just want digital broadcast channels and to play DVD movies. Those who are looking for a smart TV will have to buy something else. I like this one better than the $800 flat screen I used to have before the hot weather caused it to have a melt down. The screen size is perfect for a small room and you wont sacrifice quality to get a good picture. The base is stable once you get it assembled. Unfortunately, the quality of the LED display on my set has diminished in less than a year so I had it set out to Sceptre to have it repaired or replaced. The picture became very dull and the color, contrast and tint are no longer as good as what they were when the set was new. Customer service claimed the TV was fine and are sending it back to me having done nothing. It cost me $32 to ship it to them for nothing even though the set was still under warranty. So beware.

I bought this for a basic TV monitor to use in a remote cabin with no cable access and generator power. I use it only for OTA, computer, cell and bluray/DVD playback. Pros Easy to operate and program Everything shown came in the box, including a screwdriver to mount the stand Talking menus, good for poor vision folks great picture, compared to my $1000 Samsung using the lagom.nl monitor test Low cost, disposable if it breaks Easy to transport and mount Every basic port included: HDMI, RGB, digital, analog, audio in/out, earphone jack, can be used as PC monitor too easy to use remote sound is good, included equalizer fixes any issues from default such as bass, I did not use external speakers I had lying around viewing angles are great for one person, perfect for this size screen and limited by the TV stands angle 5W ! power consumption, perfect for using on generator power Cons Stand doesnt tilt No antenna for OTA use, had to buy that separately

This HD TV is a very good product. The picture is clear, concise and I like the choices on picture settings. The setup on this product is quite good as the manufacturer made it fairly easy to configure it the way you might like it. I also was impressed with the many inputs on the back and side of the TV. However, the sound quality leaves much to be desired. The sound quality distorts and "clips" starting at or near mid range. If you set the bass all the way up and the treble all he way down to its lowest level, it is tolerable. Not to bad for a "low-end" cheaper HD TV.

Have only owned the TV since March of this year. Now it is randomly resetting the picture and audio controls back to the factory preset condition. Sometimes it plays for 3 or 4 days and then resets. Very disappointed. Should have paid more and bought a good brand - LG. I have 4 LG sets that work flawlessly. One is 10 years old and still works fine. And of course this set is out of the return policy and support policy by Amazon. When this set works correctly it does have a good quality picture on it.

Pretty good value for a serviceable TV - Sound quality is like really really basic though. Havent tried hooking up other speakers yet - trying to figure out if I want to disconnect PC speakers or something else before I buy speakers. I hooked up a Raspberry Pi 3 to it though for youtube and some basic internet features via HDMI cable running Ubuntu Mate (which has some limitations) - Works great for what I want. Cant access Amazon Prime via the Ubuntu Mate OS - yet - so oh well.

The sound through the HDMI is terrible. Tried adjusting the sound settings, but that doesnt help. But for a small tv being used in the kitchen to catch the evening news while making dinner, it serves its purpose.

This monitor is very thin. But I think it comes at a price...it doesnt appear that the bezels are very strong. Well see how it holds up...Im questioning the build quality here. Ive had it for less than a month and the second E in SCEPTRE has already fallen off, which stinks because its right on the front of the monitor.

Works great, just as advertised. Sufficient protection within box, no damage or anything like that. Instructions are a tad sparse, so be careful to use the correct screws for the tv neck (there are two sizes). Only real criticism is some of the plugs for av cable can be blocked by the neck, for wires with longer inserts (for my older game systems), but HDMI converter can solve that.

Screen quality: 10/10 Sound: 5/10 ... even on regular tv there seems to be an echoing type of sound, but somehow very crisp. Ive always had Samsungs so maybe its just the transition, like driving a new car. Ive now got used to it, but this TV is NOT equipped to play music! It gets SO static like as if the radio were playing. Have even tried hooking up to speakers, but the sound quality is still awful with music. We have this in a hobby room so it doesnt get that much use, which is why we didnt bother spending a lot of money on a more high quality tv, but it works just fine & serves its purpose otherwise!!
