Great Picture and Amazing Value
I recently purchased the Samsung 75 inch Q8F QLED TV and after using it daily for a few weeks, I have a clear sense of its strengths and weaknesses. The first thing that immediately stands out is the size. At 75 inches, the screen completely changes the viewing experience and makes movies, sports and regular television much more immersive. The QLED panel produces bright and vivid colours, and the picture quality holds up very well in a bright living room. HDR movies look good, and the TV handles reflections better than many other large screens. Even older or lower resolution content looks quite acceptable because Samsung’s upscaling does a surprisingly good job. The smart features add to the overall positive experience. The Tizen operating system is smooth, simple to navigate and quick to respond. Streaming apps open without delay, and switching between content is easy. The TV itself looks modern and premium with slim borders and a clean design that fits nicely into the room. Wall mounting makes it look even better and gives it a polished appearance. There are a few areas where the Q8F does not perform as well. The black levels are not as deep as you might expect from a premium television. In darker scenes, the blacks can appear more like dark grey, which affects the richness and depth of the picture. If you watch a lot of movies in a dark room, this becomes noticeable. Motion handling is also average. Fast action scenes and sports sometimes look slightly blurred, and people who are very sensitive to motion may pick up on this. The sound quality is acceptable for casual viewing but does not match the large screen. Dialogue is clear, but the sound lacks weight and fullness. A soundbar improves the experience significantly and is almost necessary if you want a more cinematic feel. Overall, the Samsung 75 inch Q8F is a very good television for everyday use. It is especially appealing if you want a large screen with bright colours, strong overall picture quality and easy to use smart features. It is a great choice for living rooms and family entertainment. It is less suitable for people who are very particular about deep blacks, high end HDR performance or competitive gaming features. For the price and size, it provides a satisfying and enjoyable big screen experience.
