Built-in speakers are very bad, but I have it plugged into a mixer anyway, so I didnt buy it for its speakers. Overall, I think its a pretty good budget TV with the addition of external powered speakers, but I removed a star because it doesnt have a signal strength feature to help me adjust my antenna. If I had to nit-pick, Id argue that the boot time is a little long, but at least they put a cute splash screen to stare at while you wait. Also, it has VESA mount capability (supply your own mount), which is something I needed, but the threaded holes are very shallow and the bolts that came with my mounting kit were too long. Fortunately, I had something I could use for spacers (the ever versatile elastration band works perfectly), but if I hadnt been saving them for years (they came on mail-ordered bags of fish of all things), then I would have really struggled to find something that would work.

I bought this RCA HDTV to replace a Mexican Samsung HDTV that failed after 2 years of limited use in my home office. When connected to an antenna, the tuner in this Chinese RCA picks up two more OTA channels than the Samsung did. As mentioned by other reviewers, the sound is thin and tinny. Its similar to what you hear from an audio greeting card. Without opening the case, Im guessing this TV uses the same type of plastic diaphragm speakers. Its humorous that the menu includes a graphic equalizer which will have no noticeable effect with the internal speakers. A good pair of powered PC speakers work well when plugged into the headphone jack. The PC audio jack can be used if youre using the TV as a PC monitor in conjunction with the VGA port. Other reviewers have also mentioned a lack of dark black in the picture. Im not noticing this. In fact, where its present, the pure black color is just as black as the surrounding plastic frame. That issue may have been resolved in the more recently produced units. The one I got was made in May of 2015 and has the arched molded black plastic base, not the flat base with the transparent edges shown in most images. This could be an issue if youre buying a refurbished or used model. Otherwise, the picture is sharp and clear when displaying HD content. I found the best contrast setting to be "off". The molded plastic base attaches to the TV with two screws and doesnt pivot. With the base level, the TV leans back a couple of degrees. If you need more or less angle than that, youll have to put something under the front or back feet. I used stacked peel-and-stick rubber feet. The remote has comparatively large sized number buttons and a large 4-point navigation disk button. all buttons, except the red power button, are black with a thin white font and are reasonably laid out on an aluminum colored panel. Included with the remote are a pair of temporary AAA carbon batteries. The price on this model seems to rise and fall but you can sometimes find it for less than $130. If you dont need anything fancy and can tolerate some work-arounds, its a bargain at that price. Hopefully it will last longer than 2 years. What is an "LED LCD" TV? If you thought you were buying an LED TV, according to the description and when you got it, it said LED LCD on the box, you might wonder what, in fact, you bought. I know I did and Googled it. All TVs advertised as "LED" are LCD TVs. They just use LEDs for backlighting instead of CCFLs. In fact, CCFLs are rarely used for backlighting in new TVs anymore and will likely soon be a thing of the past.

Like previous reviewers have mentioned the sound is poor but again like another reviewer mentioned thats easily fixed with a pair of computer speakers, it has a headphone jack in the back. I love the 1080 pixels, its keeps up with fast action sports and cant wait to watch football on it. Nice light and slim, but as another reviewer mentioned as well the blacks are a bit light. For the price its pretty good (I got mine on Amazon for $190), it has one HDMI port, typical avi plug ins, cable connection, and the remote is nice and light.

This TV has a great picture easy to operate and fits great in the space I have it in. The only thing is the sound is a little tinny sound.

The sound quality is very poor, volume is low and sounds tinny. This price is right so maybe you can live with the poor sound quality.
