Bought a factory refurbished at half the cost of Optoma (closest competitor), installed and used it already for few days with Roku and over the air TV antenna. I am using regular HDMI port of it so far and have nothing but full praise for the picture quality. Picture is being projected on a 120 inches screen at basement of my house. Appears much much more lively then my 4K 65inches TV. I have not seen any colors washed out so far, colors appear very rich and white is white (not dull or yellow as I noticed in other projects). Very glad with performance so far. I stayed away from OPTOMA only because of its common complaint that HDMI port goes bad soon. LG laser also seems to be using DLP chip inside but read some reviews about white dots appearing on the screen (which implies DLP chip mirrors are failing). I know this projector is not based on true 4K DLP chip but enhances the dots by some scaling mechanism, but so far end results are too good. If it continues to work like this for couple of years then it is more then enough for my investment as the Technology is improving too fast. Now a days I dont think about any electronic item to continue be used beyond 2 to 3 years. Buy cheap and change frequently is my goal.

Love it! I bought this projector to replace another with a lower resolution. The 4K is beautiful and such a big improvement over my old projector!

I got this about 3 months ago and so far an pretty happy. This has an amazing picture. Leaps and bounds better than my previous Optoma HD26 projector which was 1080p and non hdr with a 100 inch screen in a totally dark room with a 1.0 gain matte white screen at about 8 feet. The HDR looks pretty good. I ordered the factory certified refurbished unit for 1000$. I do have two problems so far. First is the focus nob is a little tricky to get set just right. Not a huge deal, but annoying. Second, when the unit is plugged in, but off for a few days when I start it up again the screen just displays an image with lots of noise and no real image. I have to unplug it and wait for a minute and plug it back in. Hope this isnt a sign that I got a bad unit with limited life. So far I am pretty satisfied with the value of getting a 4k projector for 1000$. Even though technically the projector uses a trick to make it 4k, it is still displaying the same amount of pixels a 4k one would, just some of the pixels are "faked" I think you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between this and "true 4k." Thats pretty amazing to me. It was definitely a worthy upgrade over 1080p.

I thought my Optoma was bright but this will work on broad daylight. For a budget 4K projector, this is well worth the money. A true 4K projector will cost 4 times the money and must be used in a dark room. This unit is good for casual use in bright environment and still produce a relatively decent picture. Good value for a spare.

I was going to buy another 1080p projector, but then I saw the price for this 4K projector, and man I’m I glad I bought this one instead. I can’t believe the difference in resolution between this 4K projector and my old 1080p. I’ve been using my old projector in my living room and had to cover up the windows when I was using it during the day, but with this one, I don’t. I connect my phone to the projector and stream shows from there as if it’s a regular TV.

1. Picture quality out of box was very good 2. No operation Manuel or calibration sheet Include in box . 3. HDMI cable was to short to achieve a 84 inch or greater picture . 4. Overall this prjector is the best value on the market. And is Easley a better value than buying an 75. Inch or larger.

First I must say that this is a pretty good projector. But the various standard default mode settings are grossly over-saturated. So much so that I almost sent the projector back. Fortunately the unit has "User 1 & 2" Mode options for general picture quality settings. Once you de-saturate the picture as opposed to things like its "Cinema" mode, the picture is quite good. It took a lot of playing around to find this out and get the settings down to acceptable levels. Then I do think the optical zoom is a little limited. This allows custom tweaking of picture size vs. available screen size at any given distance and was almost a fatal problem for me (vs the larger zoom on my old BenQ projector.. Another very important thing to know is that with DirectTV you must enable the HD picture resolutions in the DirectTV, Settings, Display, area in both TV Resolution and Video. Turning "Native" on (under Display, Video) will make the presentation of higher resolutions automatic. Without doing that everything will remain at 480i. Brightness is good in my dark theater and any "so-called" light border is not even noticeable. Further the unit for me is quite quiet. But if you are NOT going to need or use 4K, I would probably go with a much cheaper BenQ unit like I had before it quit working. There is not a whole lot of difference when at or below 1080i. I switched over from BenQ simply because it stopped working after the second bulb was needed. Many other BenQ people have had that happen too. That is too short of a life expectancy to keep my business.

great quality. Terrific picture. brighter than my old one, even in Movie mode. I have not tried 4k. quiet enough. I was disappointing with the zoom. It has limited range therefore when I move the projector back from behind my head, I will need a bigger screen. Also disappointed that there is no vertical adjust.. not even jack screws. I use coasters. Wife hates it.

Ive had this projector for almost an year, Ive always had issues with the projector going out then immediately coming back on, I finally had enough and decided to send it back to take advantage of the 1 year expedited warranty. I sent the projector back and view sonic sent a refurbished unit to use while they fix mine. The refurbished unit was DOA (Dead on Arrival)-- So Im still stuck without a projector. I sent an email to customer service telling them about the dead projector and they asked me what kind of HDMI cables I were using. Every email to customer service took 2 days to get a response, so I finally called them and asked for a shipping label to send back my paper weight projector, and Im still waiting-- The picture quality is ok, but this projector is loud spend a few more $$ and get something better

110" 4k screen, yes please. Factory speaker started giving out about 3 weeks in. Have to get a 4k receiver if you plan to have good surround sound, as sound output is minimal. Although, the price point of this projector makes up the difference there. Does crank out some heat, but when ceiling mounted its not so bad. Overall, I cant imagine not having a projector now, and this one is pretty sweet for the money.
