This Optoma WU336 WUXGA 3400 Lumens Business & Education Projector provides excellent clarity and very good sound for both business and home use! We have 7 good quality projectors (mostly Epson) that we use for my wifes business training rooms and this one is by far the clearest of the lot! Up till now, we have been using XGA projectors and have been happy with the resolution but the difference with WUXGA is nothing short of amazing! The projector is easy to setup and configure for the specific application. The options are selectable from the included remote or via the control panel on the unit. As noted above, the clarity for presentations is far better than actually needed but this really shines for movies and video games (be sure to select the right video profile). This also has very good internal speakers which has allowed us to reprurpose the sound bar we had been using in our main training room. My only minor issue with this unit is the very bright light that shines through the vent on the side of the unit. Highly Recommended! CFH

I got the Optoma WU334 to replace an older Epson business projector. I didnt need a projector that was super high quality since it was only going to be for business use and mainly for powerpoints, but I did want something that was decent as my previous one can be hazy which is hard to see unless you are up close. I was pretty blown away by the quality of the Optoma, especially since it is from a brand I have never heard of. It has a very sharp picture and the focus adjustment is great. Ive even used it as an entertainment projector at the office and it works great and is pretty high quality. The best part about it is that it is quiet. This is pretty critical since my old projectors fan would cause problems if it was within a couple feet of the conference line phone. Highly recommend the Optoma.

I have been using this for presentations and set it up with a cheap vinyl 120" screen at home for watching movies, and it has been working great. The extra resolution is nice for presenting a computer screen and for watching video sent from the computer as well. Its quiet, and the 10 watt speaker is more than sufficient for watching a movie. Obviously it aint surround sound, but it fills the room well enough with clear audio. Overall it does great for not being intended as a home-theater device. It has limited zoom control, and I have the front of the projector 14 feet back from the screen to fill the 120". Brightness is excellent as you might expect for a brand new projector. There are numerous power saving settings to trade off brightness for lamp life. Otherwise its mostly indistinguishable from your standard business projector for factor, and has the usual adjustments for keystone, etc. and can be mounted table, ceiling, front or rear projection. The remote is a bit fiddly to get pointed towards the projector so that it sees it. Loving it so far, and no issues. Five stars. G.

I am primarily using this as an entertainment project and occasionally as a business projector. As an entertainment projector: * Very short throw - ability to project to a big wall in a short distance * Sound quality is pretty decent, you are better off buying one of those Anker speakers which will give the sound its needed boost * Wide connection options - Roku, Chrome, Amazon Fire stick all work As a business Projector: * Crisp and clear Text - good for presentations * Lots of connectivity options What I did not like: * No wireless options (you can use chromecast/roku/fire tv) - but no wifi inbuilt * Too bulky to carry I still feel that for a business projector, a portable operated LED projector is better off, this projector is heavier & bigger than a laptop - if you are ok with the size this is a great projector - truly awesome image/video

Im so thrilled with this projector! I have a presentation coming up and this is going to make set-up so much easier. There was nothing to install on my machine to use this. It is just plug and play. I connected it to my laptop with an HDMI cable and it worked just perfectly. This has the option to hang from a ceiling or, of course, sit on a table, or to project from behind a screen or to project from the regular frontal position. It was a tad slow to start up, but I think most projectors are like that - takes time to heat everything up. It was warm when I unplugged it, but not too hot. The focus and Zoom options really make it possible to use in a wide variety of settings. It comes with a remote, the power cord, and a handy carrying case. It also has a nice speaker, right in the projector itself. This wouldnt work well for large venues, but would be perfect in a classroom setting. it has adjustable feet so that you can change the angle if needed - a Keystone feature is also available to fix the distortion in the picture this might cause.

This is a great projector for home and office environments. The 3D works really well, by the way. The glasses are sold separately. I went with some generic glasses and they syncd up easily. Dont waste the money on the OEM glasses, in my opinion. Anyway, the projector is easy to set up and throws a nice bright image. I set it up with a Roku stick, which makes it really easy to take out and use. Too get the most out of the brightness, youll want a proper screen - not just a white wall. Im quite impressed with the quality of this unit for the price.

This has great BRIGHTNESS and works well indoors with many windows, and the lights on. Fan is somewhat loud if you are sitting closeby, otherwise you cant tell from across the room. Connected right to my laptop w/ HDMI and the image was superb. Didnt run the speakers through any tests so no comment there. Came with remote and a carry bag. Looking forward to using for some big meetings coming up this quarter as well as some outdoor family movie nights.

Our business installed a fancy-looking projector in our conference room, but the resolution was too low and it made it hard for those of us who actually use it to do so because we mostly use it to review code and read text. I get it--executives like to use projectors for power point presentations and theres nothing wrong with that, but resolution really isnt a primary concern when you are flashing up slides with huge words. This optoma WU334 projector is by FAR and away a better projector for us. We can put more text up and read it more clearly than we ever could with the one at work. The color is perfectly adequate for our purposes, although we arent watching movies with it or anything, so its hard to say just how good it is in that regard. The setup is very simple--there are not a lot of options to customize this or that--just kind of the minimal stuff. There also does not appear to be an "Eco" setting to make the bulb a little less bright and therefore last a bit longer, which is probably the 1 thing I was the most disappointed with. Also, the back left leg can adjust to try and fix a tilted screen, but it does not appear the right does, which is a shame because that was the way I needed to adjust it. Also, if the room were very dark, I think all the light bleeding from the side of the projector could be a problem, but again, for us, its no big deal. These negatives are little things and the vastly superior picture quality made everyone on my team gasp with excitement at actually being able to read the stuff on the screen. The price seems pretty reasonable for what you get here.

This is simultaneously a very nice little projector...and an extremely disappointing one. On the plus side, a razor sharp picture perfect for text-heavy presentations, very good brightness even in a room with some ambient light, and decent (if unexceptional) sound output. Additionally, the fan is surprisingly quiet, and the projector even comes with a handy carrying case. Note, too, that this projector has been optimized for business use rather that a home theater application (it will work for the latter, but other choices might be better). The downside, though, is pretty much a deal breaker for me. This projector does NOT support input from a USB thumb drive (or any other USB connection). In checking with Optoma, I learned that this is by design. The USB port is there ONLY to supply power for a device that might need it, but does not have actual reading capabilities. This is baffling to me; why make a portable projector that eliminates the handiest and most portable input source? I have "toy" projectors (under $50) that I use for Halloween decoration, and they all support USB input...so it cant be an expensive feature to add or support. Ill additionally note that Id hoped this projector would replace another high-dollar model I have that didnt support USB input. In other words, for me the main value was going to come from the USB function. Neither can you plug a smartphone or tablet directly into this projector, although it becomes theoretically possible with an additional $50 adapter. In a nutshell, if you intend to use this for presentations of any kind youll need to hook it to a computer instead of an easier to carry source. HDMI input worked fine; I added an Amazon firestick and the picture was great, with no stuttering when dealing with high def content. Plugging headphones or an audio cord into the audio out port automatically cuts off the internal speaker, as it should. Bottom line: this MIGHT be a very good projector for those who wont ever need USB or iOS/Android input, as I found no flaws other than that. But I cant give more than 2 stars for a projector in this price range that lacks such basic capabilities. ***update**** I ordered a digital media player (the Micca Speck) in order to input from a USB drive or memory card, and output HDMI to the Optoma. AND...it doesnt work. The adapter works on two other video projectors flawlessly (one of which cost only $60) so the problem is obviously in the projector itself. Seriously, it seems like Optoma has put a lot of time and effort into making sure this projector has as little connectivity as possible. Owing to the fact that Im now out another $40 and still cant salvage this projector for its intended use, Ive lowered my 2 star rating to 1 star.

For the price, very good projector. It hooked up relatively effortlessly to my laptop and began projecting immediately. It did not require total darkness to be visible and had excellent picture quality.
