It makes a loud noise when you are watching a movie and consistently skips no matter what disc you play in it. I know its refurbished but it dosent even function in its most basic capacity. I purchased two more of these that are not refurbished and they play beautifully with no noise or skipping.

Considering this item? Buy a dog turd instead. This is garbage. No power light...really. I can’t tell when it is on or off. Takes forever to turn on so you don’t know. When it finally does start up I can hear the him f the machine over the volume of the movie. Oh yeah, it’s a year old and already quit working. If zero stars was an option I would have chosen that.

BE ADVISED THAT THIS UNIT DOES NOT WORK VIA WIFI. Also note that this player uses the Cinavia Anti-Piracy software, so certain movies will not play unless they are on store-bought discs. I discovered this issue with an actual, store-bought disc and it was determined that the disc itself was faulty -- not the player. I took a chance and purchased this refurbished product ONLY because it is a Samsung product and I have years of positive experiences that make me brand-loyal. AND the price was $35 when I bought it, so if things didnt work out, Id only lose $35 -- which, to me, is worth taking a chance. (Actually, I intended to donate it to the Boys & Girls Club for the kids to tinker with if it didnt work.) I also purchased a 2-year extended warranty with SquareTrade because that was approximately $1! In the middle of watching a movie, the unit glitched and a floating, "Not Supported" appeared and nothing else would work. I unplugged it; tried plugging it into different electrical sockets; attempted to reset the unit( but could not due to the black screen). So, I searched the internet for a fix and could not find a solution. I contacted SquareTrade to discover that the unit was still under warranty with Samsung. I called Samsung and waited for less than 3 minutes for a tech. I am SO EMBARRASSED because I am usually super-thorough and -- as the expression goes, "Keep It Simple" -- the tech asked if I had another HDMI cable... Doh! Of all of the things I tried, I didnt start at the basic beginning... Everything works fine now and I am very satisfied. The reason I wrote the above is to tell you how impressed I am with Samsungs support and to recommend that you purchase the extended warranty -- cant beat the price! My experience with the player and with Samsungs support makes me feel comfortable to purchase a Samsung refurbished product again.

The player works great and has a lot of versatility. USB ports. DVD blue ray and streaming friendly. Not to mention its a lot more affordable than most blue ray players out there. It does the job great. Dont pay a Benjamin for something that does a job as good as this bad boy. I own two of these. The original I bought 5 years ago and is still running. I just recently bought this one from amazon which is the same model because I wanted one in my bedroom.

This product works great after I disabled Anynet+ on the Samsung , Videos would play for 1-2 min and then just stop. No info on this anywhere . I started turning off options on the DVD player when I got to Anynet+ it started working. Turns out my LG tv has SIMPLINK which is the same as Anynet+ IE HDMI-CEC , but they are not compatible so I disabled Anynet+ in the Samsung then everything worked great , love the player now that that problems has been solved. Took away 1 star because of this issue and the hours I worked to fix/find it .

This was the one of the few BR players without wi-fi that I could find that got any good reviews. I have limited Internet bandwidth, so streaming TV is not an option, so no need for wi-fi. Glad I bought it since I have a Samsung TV, the unit automatically adjusts settings for the TV and the picture looks great. Easy to use. The remote also operates the frequent functions of my TV as well, so I dont have to add 1 more remote to the table top. It would be nice if it had a power indicator light which (might have cost an extra 50 cents), but for the price, I cant complain. Heres how you can tell if its on: push the eject button and if nothing happens, turn it on. Problem solved.

This BluRay player worked well for a few months but then it started shutting off for no reason during a movie. At first I thought it was a fluke and we dont use it that much so we would just turn it back on and try to find our place again. Eventually it got worse and worse and now it wont make it through a whole movie without shutting off several times. Of course the warranty period is passed so no help there. I think there is a reason there are so many "certified refurbished" versions of this Blu-Ray Player.

I stayed off of the Blu-ray boat until finally I decided to get one just to cover the few I can borrow from friends. I watched THREE, just three movies until this thing broke. There I was, having the kids finally calmed down watching Moana where halfway through a loud clicking starts and the movie stops. This thing is junk even before. From the get to, you had to press the buttons a few times to get it to turn on and then the open button a few times again. Thats what I get for going cheap but I figured itd last more than 3 movies

Apparently "Certified Refurbished" means "does not play Blu-Rays" (at least when buying from seller "CR LAND") -- who knew? The player turned on and loaded the menu, but wouldnt play Blu-Ray discs (even after a system update). I tried multiple different discs, but each time the drive just repeatedly spun up for a while and the system hung on "loading" before eventually giving an error message.

This isnt certified refurbished from Samsung. This is straight up USED. Item was in dirty banged up box and was dirty and scratched. Looked like someone used it to watch TV outside in a cornfield.
