Nice Looking Stand That Won?t Break the Bank
I was pleasantly surprised the two columns are solid pieces of wood rather than a metal tube with a faux wood finish painted on. The wood is solid, doesn?t resonate like a metal tube. It?s also lighter, especially compared to a metal tube filled with sand (very heavy) or coarse crushed walnut shell (careful if you have nut allergies). Some tips for putting them together. I used one of my kitties cat towers. It put everything at chest height. I placed the wood pieces across the tower and then attached the two plates. I put the base plate on first, tightened to within a few millimeters. Fully tightening at this stage prevented attaching the top plate no matter how much force I used. Although the stand comes with a Allen wrench for the top bolts, you will need a wide head Phillips screw driver for the four bottom bolts.
