Difficult to Use
I was so excited about this Jensen Am/FM Weather Band Clock Radio with Weather Alert because I recently didn't receive hurricane alerts on my phone. As soon as I got this clock, I plugged it in. From the start, I realized that it was more confusing to use than the other 3 alarm clocks I have in my house. Setting the clock and alarms didn't seem intuitive and it was difficult to figure out. Once I finally figured the clock out, I searched the weather alerts. I heard old alerts about thunderstorms from earlier in the week, which I thought was weird. When I turned it back to "clock", it showed a weather alert, but I couldn't "clear" the alert. I left the clock plugged in downstairs. Fast forward to our second night with the clock...at around midnight (thankfully I were still awake), I heard a horrible siren/alarm coming from downstairs. I didn't even hear what it said, I just unplugged the clock before it woke my kids up! I searched the news, no active weather threats in our area. I'm sure there are ways to change the settings (and volume of the alarm, obviously), but I've been so annoyed with the clock that it sits on my desk unplugged. I will eventually re-read the instructions and try to get it working properly, but it's frustrating that it's not more user friendly.

Great sound volume
I live in NC by the coast. We get a lot of storms, and I love being informed. As a former nurse, I am all about safety. This radio is fairly easy to set up. The instruction booklet could be clearer on some points, but overall, better than other instruction booklets, lol. I wish there was an old timer turn off switch t=for the alarm, instead of pressing a sequence of buttons. that would have given this radio a 5 star eating for me. The radio and weather channel bands are easy to navigate. The attached antennae really does boost the signal. In my area, I seem to only be ale to get the Channel 1 weather and station, none of the others. The volume is nice and load. There is an option for a 24 hour clock as well, and I like that. The time is highly visible in both the day and night time light. Overall, this is a handy clock to keep on hand. I received this clock to review, but all opinions are honest and my own.

Complicated But Useful
I loved the weather alert feature until 4 am when an Amber Alert woke me from a sound sleep but if it had been bad weather coming in I would definitely have heard it. We wanted weather alerts for camping and with our weird weather we definitely needed updates. I had a tough time figuring out how to set up everything correctly so we could take advantage of all the functions. I picked up quite a few FM stations without unrolling the antenna wire, just for fun I tried to find some AM stations but none appear to be around our area. I liked the battery backup feature since there is no electricity where we camp. Without using the batteries you lose your settings in a power outage and with my not understanding the setup, I didn’t want to go through setting it up again. Setting up the volume for the alerts is important since you want to know if you need to take cover due to bad weather. It actually took me a few tries to set the volume to a comfortable level so I could hear it but not be startling my pets. My favorite features were the weather alerts and being able to hear the weather updates whenever I wanted, the great FM radio reception, battery backup and a dependable alarm.
