Not worth it.
Don’t buy! I bought one and it was great for the first 4 audiobooks on cd. Once I put the 5th one in the last couple of minutes it STOP working. I put new batteries and a different CD and it wouldn’t work . I returned and bought a new one and that one wouldn’t work at all.

Literally exploded
I put brand new AA batteries in, and it did nothing. Wouldn’t play or turn on. I thought maybe the batteries were loose. I started to check the batteries, but as I started to wiggle them, my finger touched against a previously unnoticed, uncoated wire sticking out of the battery compartment. I experienced an electric shock, and heard sizzling. Within a few seconds the battery by the wire exploded, and smoke and an acrid smell began rising from the player. I couldn’t even return it, because it wasn’t safe to save. I had to bag it and put in in the dumpster immediately, to avoid being burned by battery acid.

I didn't know what to expect, these are notorius for skipping. I use this in the car, and the sound quality is excellent through my car speakers. Really impressed with this product. I would recommend pairing it with an AC/DC adaptor so you don't burn through batteries.
Reminds me of the good times
This has the classic feel I remember from my portable cd player 2001, which is honestly exactly what I was looking for. Satisfying bass, pretty clean sound. I just got it in case of a hurricane power outage, but I can already tell it's going to see a lot of sunny days! My only thing is the headphones it came with were pretty weak.... but I won't let that discount the rating, since they're basically included as a bonus courtesy.
