I spent a couple weeks looking through various monitors before finally deciding on these. Ive included images from my previous setup of a 24" LG LED and 2 LG 22" LEDs versus 2 27" ViewSonic VX2757-MHDs. This review will be lengthy so I will include a TL;DR at the bottom. I am an avid gamer and also do instructional design work that requires quite a bit of time working at home. My games include Fallout 4, Witcher 3, any Civilization I can find, Dragon Age, the Mass Effect trilogy, and several other graphics heavy games. Instructional design requires quite a bit of work with photos and images as well as needing to be precise in layouts and contrasts. I demand quite a bit from my rig and needed to upgrade the monitors to match. Compared to my previous setup, I couldnt be more pleased in my choice of these monitors, even having them for only 10 hours at the time of this post. I have my primary connected via display port in order to take advantage of AMDs FreeSync and have seen a huge improvement in my gaming. I will post my rigs specs below. Witcher plays on Ultra graphics with absolutely no lag even when surrounded by enemies in a big fight. I used to suffer from screen tearing but that is now a thing of the past. Running Fallout 4 is like having a brand new game, especially during the night when the black stabilization kicks in and lets me see into the shadows far better than I had been able to before. For anyone looking for their first FreeSync capable monitor, I would HUGELY recommend picking this up. For non-gaming, the monitor has also been a big step up in design and general entertainment. I am currently watching Enders Game while I type this out and cant believe that the image I am watching is better than the 60" Vizio 1080p I have out in the living room. Colors are rich and clear, no ghosting to speak of even in the most hectic sequences, and paired with AMDs Radeon cinema settings there is no comparison for movie watching. I have also connected both monitors to my work laptop (do not ask for specs, it is shameful) with outstanding results. The company I write for uses 80" displays in our classrooms and having these two monitors allows me to truly understand what our students will see when my training is presented to them. I have spent time with both PowerPoint (cmon, you know it is the lifeblood of corporations) and Articulate Storyline on these monitors and have a hard time knowing I will have to be back in the office on Monday using far worse equipment. The setup of these monitors was extremely easy. Packaging is well thought out and there was none of the tugging and pulling to remove the monitors from their packaging that we have all experienced in the past. This is a 27" monitor so there is a little wobble on them if you are pounding down on your desk but this should be expected. If you dont want the wobble, spend a bit more and get a secured mount. Once I had these cabled up, one with display port the other HDMI, both monitors were immediately recognized and the picture was washed out. Basic brightness and contrast are set extremely high when they come out of the box, press a couple buttons and you will have that taken care of quick. As a couple other comments have stated, the buttons are located on the rear of the display on the lower right corner. They are a slight pain to deal with but you will get through it. Within 20 minutes I had both the monitors settings and my graphics card settings done and perfect images on both. TL;DR Buy these monitors, period. Without going to the $400+ range for displays, you will not find a better mix of response and quality. I will update in a few weeks after more time spent. My rig Win 10 AMD FX-8350 (Vishera) 16GB HyperX DDR3 @ 669MHz Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 MSI AMD Radeon R9 390

I recently built a new desktop and since I used an RX 480, I wanted a monitor that could take advantage of Freesync this time around. This had some pretty nice reviews and was on sale (not to mention it was already fairly inexpensive compared to other Freesync monitors), so I jumped on it. Perhaps I received a defective unit or my eyes are broken, but I just could not find a way to make the colors on it look good, even after spending over an hour trying to find a good mix of settings for it and using multiple calibration sites. Everything looked bright and washed out, even if I turned down the brightness setting, and the general lack of options for sharpness meant I either had to deal with text that was too sharp or too blurry (while the menu makes it seem that sharpness goes up to 100, you can actually only change it in increments of 25, meaning that there are only five possible settings for it). For now, Ive went back to my good old Hanns G montior thats reliably served me for over seven years now.

Out of the box, The ViewSonic VX2757-MHD is set to look good on a store shelf. Which means it is set to sear the retinas at 60 paces in the average Users Domicile. However after downloading an ICC Profile at DisplayLag.com and using their settings and tweaking a tad further on my own. This monitor is absolutely stunning. With Freesync enabled Games are Butter smooth on my I7, R9-390 rig. Films and Videos are gorgeous and tear free. Text is crisp and easily readable and overall for the money I paid and am ecstatically happy with this monitor. I recommend this awesome little monitor stand as well (if you still find one) The 3M MS110MB Easy Adjust Monitor Stand. It is leagues better than the original stand included with the monitor. The one real ding it has.

Nice price point at $179. I bought this because it had a displayport and thats all I had left on my video card. Im running a triple set-up. This is the middle monitor and I have two 24" monitors on each side. Its bright, crisp, (almost too bright--but now my other monitors seem pallid). My eyes are not the way they use to be and this helps--quite a lot. Instant set-up, my video card EVGA 1050 TI seems to be able to tell which monitor is on and which to use. I play Diablo 3 and its great. Im attending College and prefer to have 2-4 Microsoft Word docs off to the side. It runs much, much cooler than either of my two 24" therefore I must assume that its using less energy than the smaller ones. I thought of buying a 30" but Im pleased that I bought a 27" Its about 24% larger than a 24". This has 311 square inches versus 252 square inches on a 24" monitor--its big enough and I think that a 30 would be too large. My only complaint is the monitor sets up 4" from the table. My 24" monitors sit up 2 1/2". The top edge of this monitor is about 2.5" higher than the others and coincidentally about 2.5" higher than what would be considered ergonomically correct. Your eye height should be about level with the top of the monitor. This one has an nonadjustable stand and if I could Id buy a stand that was 2.5" lower. I was going to buy an Asus seduced by "fast replacement," but have found too many complaints indicating that their service has faltered and if the monitor failed--you will not get a fast replacement. Ill trust ViewSonics 3 year warranty.

1) The monitor did not come with a display port cable 2) it did come with an extremely short HDMI cable, worthless for anyone who doesnt have their desktop actually on their desktop. 3) No manual was included in the box and this was important after I plugged the monitor in. Insanely bright and crisp monitor when i plugged it in. Too bright. The fonts on my screen are coming across granular as well which is a huge negative. So now there are 5 buttons on the back of the monitor to try and use to configure the monitor. i bought this for freesync to go with my video card and when I enable that feature it removes the options to adjust brightness and contrast and dulls everything way down. At this point I have to go online and see how others configured their monitor because just trying to find my way around the menus is not intuitive. A user manual would have been so handy here.

Amazing for the price. I bought two of these for gaming, one for myself and one for my wife. I just had my fingers crossed that they would meet expectations and they went above and beyond. In the picture are the Viewsonic on the left compared to my old monitor on the right. Its so much more crisp, clean and the colors are perfect. Unlike the other monitor which now looks washed out.

I bought this monitor to use as a gaming monitor with my PS4. I mainly play Destiny, in competitive online PVP, so I wanted a fast processing, quality picture to use as a replacement for a 42 inch TV I was using. This monitor is perhaps the best looking monitor I saw in person, and it was not expensive at all. The processing seems to work really well, I never feel like I was a split second behind the guy I was in a battle with, as I did with a TV. I can not speak about the longevity but Viewsonic seems to be a good company. I have the 24 inch version, which I thought would be too small, but I cant even imagine playing on anything bigger now. I put the game on a 55 inch Samsung the other day and it hurt my brain trying to keep up with all the eye space, plus the images looked smeared and super delayed...could be confirmation bias, but to me I can definitely tell a huge difference.

Great monitor, no complaints. Only disappointment is in the "answered questions". This may have come with a DVI cable 3 years ago when the question was originally asked, however it does not anymore (Apr 17) - not the manufacturers fault, so no stars off. Mine came with VGA and HDMI, which is accurate in the description (which I should have listened to in the first place) : "Package Content: VX2757-mhd monitor, Power cable, Audio cable, VGA cable, HDMI cable, Quick Start Guide, and ViewSonic Wizard CD". Listen to the description and not the 3 year old reviews. If you need to use the DVI connection, add that DVI cable to your cart now, so you dont have to wait like I do!

We bought this to be our "TV," because we dont want to have an actual TV (and cable provider, blah) in our house. We bought a $40 cord to hook it up to our iPad (and/or iPhones), hooked up a $20 set of speakers, and were watching Netflix and Amazon Prime on the big screen! Works like a dream! This monitor has beautiful resolution, we are perfectly pleased with it.

Overall I really like the monitor. I am using my laptop and feeding the monitor via HDMI as well as using a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard as my second office. I think the colors are good and overall a clear display, but they do feel a tad washed out. Could be the monitor or it could be the laptop...the laptop display is slightly richer in color. So I really want to only knock off 1/2 of a star. Otherwise, I was surprised to find out it has speakers built in. Did not initially care and although they are built in... they sound decent and better than my laptop and by using HDMI, no extra wires to carry sound.
