I have owned this monitor for almost 2yrs now and can say with utter certainty, hands down the worst purchase I have ever made! It started out great, for about a week, then began not connecting to any output of any kind. First it would just lose signal, then it wouldnt reconnect even though other monitors were. I have replaced the cable, the driver, the everything anyone can think of and still it persists. The only reason I still have this today is money issues. It acts as a great second monitor now to my old tv, at least it stays connected no matter what happens. If you want something that is high quality and durable, this isnt the thing for you. If you want something that will give you ages of headaches, temper flares, and massive bouts of destruction all at an extremely over priced position....well then this is the EXACT thing for you!

I ordered in may of 2017, the monitor arrived well packaged. I hooked it up... i couldnt get an image signal from either the hdmi or display port cable until i flipped the switch at the right rear off then back on. I thought ok fine, it works now and theres no dead pixels so minor initial annoyance aside i was good to go. I was wrong, every time i would hibernate the computer i would have to flip the switch off and back on again. I said fine, ill disable hibernate and that seemed to fix the problem but i was then plagued with a new problem. The monitor has continued to drop signal randomly every few days, the monitor goes completely black and requires me to flip the switch to function again. I had contacted AOCs customer support within the 30 day window, i was told i would have to pay shipping so i held onto it because the switch, though annoying is easily accessible. Now, heres where the really disappointing aspect of the monitor comes in. Yes, it is better than the 8ms samsung monitor it replaced... but not by much. It functions "fine" in World of Warcraft and GTA5 on medium settings at any refresh rate but it fails in almost every FPS game ive tried. It cant maintain anywhere near 60fps at anything above low settings in pubg, bf1, bf5, bo4, nor several other games with either cable at any refresh rate, neither with vsync nor freesync. Oddly enough, the monitor does function slightly better with the gamer 2 profile but anything with "overdrive" enabled runs like absolute garbage. I know what youre thinking, its the computer not the monitor. Thats what i thought for over a year but since I received this monitor i have gone through 3 cpus, 3 motherboards, 3 sets of ram, 4 video cards, 2 power supplies, 2 ssds... The same requirement for low settings for playable fps remains. What really gave it away was bf1 and bf5s warning icons, despite the ingame fps overlay saying i had playable fps it would still show a near constant low fps icon which of course confirmed what i was visually seeing. It feels like the fps drops and the input latency skyrockets at anything above low settings. Thought it still functions fine as a internet browser, for gaming this monitor has been a disappointment from day 1. I dont know if i got a dud but i would not recommend this monitor. I should have spent the extra $30 for an ASUS...

I ordered this at 1am and imidiately tried to cancel the order, it didnt work and I am very glad it didnt because this Monitor is awesome. I have it hooked up via display port on my Origin EVO15-S Laptop, the 144HZ really makes a difference in the picture quality. The calibration out of the box is not good so I suggest you set it as following. Brightness: 37 Contrast: 43 Color temps R:57 G:48 B:44 Gamma: 1 All in all a awesome buy but I am not a gamer so that aspect I cant advise in.

There are plenty of not so great reviews on this monitor complaining about color quality and whatnot, but Ive found this to be a fantastic monitor. 144hz out of the box with no problems, freesync range 35-146hz as per Radeon Settings menu. Mine came with a display port cable in the box. For gaming this thing is incredible, silky smooth with freesync and high refresh, and it looks great playing videos too. For the price point you cannot beat this monitor. Viewing angles are good. Adjustments (height/tilt/swivel/pivot) are great. Some minor tweaks to settings produce a beautiful picture. High refresh + great freesync range.

Remember that you have to set the monitor to 144mhz, but once you do, Freesync is already activated. Then you have to go into the Nvidia control panel to activate Gsync. No dead pixels on my model, and Amazons shipping and service is as outstanding as it always is. Pros: Freesync works perfectly with an RTX 2060 144mhz! For cheap! (youll never go back to a 60hz monitor if you game) At the time of my purchase Feb 2019, this is the most inexpensive Freesync monitor that Nvidia has validated for use with G-sync Looks beautiful on my desk, the red stripe looks great Almost invisible bezels on the top and sides Great picture and performance (*once calibrated*) Not too hard to calibrate with settings you see in other reviews Cons: Very horrible color calibration out of the box - way too bright and washed out and the colors are off Gamer-y red stripe at the bottom of the monitor may not match your setup and/or visual preferences Bottom line: Its well worth the money and I would gladly choose this monitor again. It will only take you 2-3 minutes to re-calibrate. Liberate yourself from 60hz and game on!

Excellent monitor. AOC monitors have been around for years and I have used them alot. Received monitor in 2 days very fast shipping package was neat and undamaged. The monitor looks terrible out of the box....but after about a min of adjusting settings looks fantastic and games...oh boy they look sharp colorful all around beautiful. Jumping from 75hz 7 ms IPS to 144 hz 1 ms is noticeable in a way I cant really describe. ReCore looked fantastic on previous monitor at 75 hz but at 144 hz nothing but silky smooth game play....and Prey looks even better. You can set the refresh rate up in the Nvidia control panel and same for AMD which benefits more with the Free Sync. Also Normal HDMI wont get you to 144 HZ. To my surprise AOC also included DVI hook up a Data Port cable and in case you want HDMI its in there too. Was very impressed with the construction of monitor/and base super strong and well made. Also has a good looking red and dark grey theme very nice. I do recommend using the data port cable over the rest. Also monitor raises and lowers tilts back Very happy with purchase Thanks AMAZON & AOC

This is the second monitor (brand new, returned the first after seeing the same issue) that I am noticing the same exact issue with. I cant seem to find any information on it to check whether Im the only one experiencing this issue. There appears to be a lighted elongated rectangle with soft edges burnt into the screen. Again, this is the second monitor Im noticing this with. I have adjusted all the settings I can think of and nothing changes. Its really obvious with the screen entirely black, but in game or when watching movies, its still there and has become very distracting as my eye keeps getting drawn to it. Anyone have ANY thoughts as to whats going on here?

I just built a pc and I was excited to be able to get my paycheck and to be able to get a gaming monitor. I of course looked for the cheapest one and this was it. This isnt worth the money. One the speakers are god awful. Two seemed a little washed out. Three when i loaded up a game the screen would go black. Four when the screen went black every 15 seconds on Rainbow Six the screen would make an awful pop noise like it had a wire short. Amazon tried to tell me it was my graphics card, or my drivers. I have everything up to date and I downloaded everything for the monitor. I switched back to my old monitor and everything is working fine. I am now ordering asus 200 monitor and now i have to wait three days to get it.

Why would anyone want to go back to a 60hz monitor? Not to mention tearing, lag input, high response time. This is definitely an upgrade. However, the question at hand is how flipping cool is it? Well you first have to use HDMI it comes with one and VGA (lol) but not display port cable. At first the setting are not set so you have to download drivers. I am using G drivers from AOC website. Depending on what you are doing you can have game sync and customize those settings for each app. It doesnt always work as not all games have it but it is cool when it does. The shadow control makes everything look washed but when you play a game it looks just fine it is just with stills that it has problems with. Might have to supplement with an IPS monitor for when you want to get work done. That being said this one is frakking fantastic for the fun.

The only issue I had was it took a very small amount of messing around with settings to get this to its full refresh speed. Out of the box it was insisting it was a 60 fps monitor. In my case I had to remember not to use the default windows settings dialog and instead go to the NVIDIA Control Panel and scroll down to PC, pick the 1920x1080 resolution and then it would let me change refresh rate to 144Mhz. This is doing great with my NVIDIA 1660Ti - on high settings with reasonable settings for AA and such I am getting 90-110 fps on a lot of games.
