I had to buy my nephew a new reliable laptop for junior high. But also a laptop that will at least last him until he graduates from high school. Found a winner!! Its got an internal SSD drive plus a 1TB internal hard drive to install and run his programs from. You wont get a 2nd hard drive on any Macbook Pro. I promise you that. 4GB DDR5 dedicated video card and 12GB of SDRAM. I even borrowed this HP laptop for a DJ gig running Virtual DJ because my old Macbook Pro from 2013 cant refresh fast enough to playback video songs on 50 inch Samsung 4K TV. The old mac only has a 1GB dedicated video card. But the HP Omen laptop worked perfect. It didnt even sweat it. That HP laptop was like, "Is that all you got for me?" Theres a different model with the backlit keyboard option, wish I bought that one instead. But other than that, this laptop ROCKS!!! Great purchase.

I mostly use this laptop for school and I have been very happy with it in that area. I was playing a steam game on it and it was running very well for around 30 minutes. Around 30 minutes in I smell something burning and think to myself “what could that be?”. It was the last thing I thought it would be, the laptop. I checked the temps and my processor was running at upwards 94 degrees Celsius. I panicked and stopped playing games until I could order a cooling pad. The cooling pad came in and guess what? The laptop won’t charge when it’s plugged in, in fact it says “plugged in, discharging”. Fantastic. I have babied this laptop and handled it with the utmost care. Upon closer inspection, I notice that they somehow bent the heat sinks when they assembled it. Fantastic. This laptop was brand new out of the box and when I place it in my laptop bag, I place it touchpad down, so it’s not possible that I damaged the heat sink. You would literally have to jam a pencil or pen in there. I went with this because I expected HP to deliver a product better than its competition. This is coming from someone who has happily owned multiple HP and ROG products. Luck of the draw I guess.

Ive used this laptop to play Forza, edit photos in PS, and create short videos with my GoPro footage and it handles it all like a champ. A few times, I have had Netflix playing on a second screen while I edit videos, without any real lag or issues. Definitely has some power behind it and, coming from a 7-year old Macbook Pro, this is a huge improvement - I couldnt do anything with that

I have googled and youtubed. This model does not allow for enabling keyboard lighting. I have a $249 Acer that has a lit keyboard. I would have given this 5 stars but keyboard lighting is such a basic necessary function, I cant believe it does not have it. It is not even an option on my Omen screen. Cmon, HP.

I am a gamer but I am not a PC or console gamer. I am both. I had an alien ware Desktop and loved it for years. I have a PS4 and a Switch. I say this because I am not a die hard only PC person. I love them both. With that in mind I love this laptop. It has great graphics, a good amount of RAM and a good processor. It is not the best money can buy but it is the best at this price! It controls heat well and performs amazing. The batter runs down when playing games but that is to be expected. When doing normal work the battery last all day (6 - 8 hours). I would highly recommend this product. Also I ordered it and got it in a day. If you are looking for a good gaming laptop that is right at $1000.00 look no further... no really, buy it.

This laptop is not the best gaming laptop of all price, but is the best gaming laptop for it’s now price. You can’t find another laptop with cheaper price but better configurations. In addition, it looks really cool and the touch of keyboard is nice.

It was mostly good but the frames were not very good on big games like GTA V. The battery life is very bad too.

Purchased this laptop to run Auto CAD on. So far it runs great. We are able to run AutoCAD along with numerous other programs with no lag. For the price, it seems to be a good computer.
