I was pleasantly surprised at how well this laptop performed once I replaced the hard drive with a solid state drive (ssd). Solid state drives are typically 4x faster than mechanical hdds. If you just use the mechanical hard drive that originally came in the laptop it will run slow. With the solid state drive this laptop can have 10 tabs in Google Chrome open, multiple Word documents open, Excel open, a YouTube video running all at the SAME TIME, and still not lag nor feel slow. Even with only 4 gb. of ram the laptop performs tasks smoothly. The reason is the RAM is DDR4 2400 mhz. speed, so it can transfer data 50% faster than previous generation ddr3 ram. You can upgrade the RAM to a MAXIMUM of 8gb. DDR4 2400mhz. There is only 1 ram slot, so youll have to take out the 1 x 4gb. stick and put in a 1 x 8gb. stick. Things to do to make this laptop fast: 1. Do a fresh/clean install of Windows 10 (to get rid of bloatware) on an ssd NOT the original hdd. 2. Turn "power options" power plan in control panel to "High Performance". This will boost your processor speed and your ram speed to advertised levels. 3. Do Windows updates before installing any programs

I bought this like a backup laptop. It is great. Sound is decent. Not so happy with the display. But .. go to graphic card settings and lower the contrast to minimum... Display is much better with that setting. I would suggest to everyone who bought this laptop to upgrade to SSD for just $58 - I bought Silicon Power 512GB SSD 3D NAND A55 . There is a cloning software (free). Just look for the link on their web site. Serial number is on the SSD for the cloning software. When you replace the HDD with SSD The overall performance is almost the same as laptops with I7 processors. Startup is less than 10 sec.

This is the worst laptop Ive ever bought. Only had it for a few days & am in the process of returning it. The power button doesnt respond & when you finally do get it to respond after numerous attempts it takes forever to load. The font changes from small to large & back without ever touching a key. The keys make a clunking sound & dont respond. Ive had HP laptops before & was pleased. However, this one is of poor quality & just plain doesnt work.

I bought this on black Friday(actually Wednesday night) it arrived Saturday. Took maybe 15 minutes to boot, sign in, set up the WI-FI. Im not sure of all these people having an hour to boot up. The computer works fine, feels a little on the cheaper side, but at the price point for a touchscreen laptop its fine. battery life so far has been really good and its good to see the charger is the same as our other HP laptops, makes it more convenient with multiple laptops in different locations. overall Im pleased with it so far.

I am typing on the computer right now. This is a basic computer to get things done. I am currently in school and I need a computer to surf the web and watch a Netflix on. If that is what you are looking for then this is the computer for you. Getting the computer set up was really slow and overall the computer is slow. Either way this computer will get things done. I am happy with it so far. It is extremely light weight too.

This laptop is great. It has great screen resolution and plays videos with great quality the touch screen feature works great and very accurate. Sometimes I forget it there and touch the screen on accident but I enjoy it. It feels on the light side in terms of weight but its a great performing laptop. Theres no CD player but I honestly dont find myself using that at all these days.

Have had the laptop for a day now everything works great!! A little bit of lag while downloading stuff but if youre not downloading everything runs great. Very pleased with my purchase. Cant imagine i could buy a laptop with 1TB at this price.

This was a birthday gift for my daughter. Received the lapto very quickly, which was nice. But after getting it turned on and setup, we realized that it was quit slow, also it kept freezing. Then the next day is kept trying to update itself but would never finish. Then it kept restarting itself. We decided to return it and now my daughter is left with no gift.
