This item just wasnt for me. It was beautiful and might work well for others, but basically its a really nice tablet. The software just wasnt useful for me for the price. Went with a samsung convertible laptop that functions as a tablet but also runs PC software.

I have the i7 512Gb Pixelbook and it is easily the best laptop Ive ever touched. Better than the MS Surface or the Apple Macbook, absolutely rock solid hardware, brilliant flexibility, speed, reliability and security. And better value than those others, for the same spec. File browser app could be a little more fully-featured. Doesnt run full versions of Office apps (but mobile versions work great and cover 90% of what you need). In the grand scheme of things, these are minor drawbacks given the outstanding performance of this device in every other area. New bonus feature: turn on Linux support in the settings and you can install any Linux app as well as all the Chrome OS and Android apps. There is very little that this thing cannot do.

Ive had this a little over a month and, to date, its working better than I expected. Though I cant load some of the programs to which Ive become accustomed over the years, Google Play has a lot of work-around apps and, when I feel compelled to use a desktop program, I connect to my office PC using Jump over OpenVPN, which works as well as GoToMYPC or Teamviewer, IMO. I bought the pen with it and the pen works better than the reviews Id read said it would. Im very pleased to this point.

Were a "techy" family... Everyone has a desktop they built and we all have some version of a laptop and tablet. Ive resisted the iPad thing... Everything I have is Android, so it feels like a waste, so when this became available and most of my apps are accessible it made sense to me to try it. I was a bit sceptical initially but I bought a hub with some additional ports and now I dont know how I ever got along without it... It seamlessly integrates with my phone and easily brings files stored on my PC for use on any television through our Network. If you arent am Apple person, this is a fantastic tablet/laptop combo!

This machine started out great at first but progressively started having issues. I’ve only had mine for 6 months and am so disheartened. The machine’s battery doesn’t last and once the battery dies, it takes forever to charge. As of now, my machine won’t even turn on regardless of how long the battery has been charging today. There is no way to get this resolved because you can only chat with a representative- there isn’t a phone number to call.

I wish they would just work. Frequent reboots, waiting on updates that disappoint, glitches, problems, problems, problems.

Fantastic little laptop/2-in-1. Unbelievably thin and speedy.

I love this Chromebook, first the build quality and feel and touch are fantastic and one of the best keyboards I have experienced! This replaced a previous Chromebook, different brand and is great to use, though some of the android apps are still phone sized, though I know they were working on adaptation. There are a lot of great Chrome OS apps and the number is growing, but for everyday use or thin client as someone else stated its great. I got the 512 gb which should last me a while and the response is lightning quick. I would highly recommend if you like Chromebook and want a premium experience. And the screen is pretty good too.

When I saw reviews of this laptop I heard it was good for programming because of its robust hardware. The apparent catch is that Chrome OS doesnt support programming software and you have to do all your coding online (so no Eclipse, no Anaconda, no MATLAB, nothing). I saw that you can switch to Linux but fully doing so requires you to essentially hack the laptop and ditch all security. So if youre a young and naive computer science student looking for a cheap but powerful laptop, keep looking. The screen is also a major flaw. In addition to the inch thick bezel, the screen is surprisingly square. This means that any video you want to watch has to either shrink down to fit the full video on your screen, or cut off about 10% on either side. So for watching videos/movies youre really getting an 10" screen on a ~12" laptop. Just dont waste your time with this laptop unless you only plan on using it to write papers, which is a shame because the hardware had such potential.

The USB-C port on the left side of the comptuer isnt working anymore with my UtechSmart hubs SVGA plug which I use for my extended display (it works fine on the right side). I called Google and did everything they said to try to get it to work, but in the end it seems like its a defective port. Google said they couldnt replace the laptop because it wasnt purchased through them, but Amazon has offered a full refund, which Im grateful for. In my opinion, the Pixelbook is overpriced compared to other Chromebooks. This is the second Google product I own that has not worked as it should (the other being a new Pixel phone 3 XL that went kaput after only 10 days), so Googles track record with respect to product reliability is spotty in my book. Integration with Microsoft and Adobe products is okay, but can use much improvement. Im all in with Google (G Suite, Chrome browser, Slate, Pixel phone, Google Fi), but Im starting to question whether Ive made the right decision...it probably would have been wiser to go with an Apple or Windows-compatible computer.
