I have a huge issue with a situation, and have no platform in which to voice it, therefore am using this review. My family of 5 have purchased Dell computers many times over the past 20 years because Dell has always been a good product. However, in July I purchased 2 computers, the exact same, and 1 has worked exactly like its supposed to; the other has been a lemon. I have now spent more time than I can possibly add up on the phone with Dell support, mailing my computer to a Dell computer-repair center, and aggravating time with IT staff. I am (once again) waiting on the Dell support people to call me from India so that we can go through the process AGAIN of "rebuilding" whatever it is were rebuilding. My extreme aggravation is not that I got a "lemon" of a computer - that happens occasionally. (This is the first Dell product Ive had this problem with.) I am angry and disappointed that for whatever reason, the partnership of Amazon and Dell does not allow me to exchange this computer for a new one. Its a failure. The other (exact same computer) I purchased (at the exact same time) isnt having one iota of difficulty. Amazon wont help and Dell wont help - each say they cant exchange the obvious errant computer. Amazon, if youre going to have a partnership with Dell, and sell their product, youd better be able to help when things go wrong. Dell, if youre going to allow Amazon to sell your product, youd better be able to exchange the product when things go wrong. Meanwhile Im stuck with a crappy product, and tied to a place where I can answer the phone when a man from India calls YET AGAIN, with another experiment to fix my machine.

Hinge for screen broke fairly quickly - cant use it properly. Dell says warranty doesnt cover physical damage. I didnt drop it or anything - it just broke. Having a broken hinge in a device thats supposed to flip around so you can use it like a tablet seems like something a warranty should cover? Im an editor and I bought four of these for my newsroom, thinking they would be great to use when we read documents since you can make the type bigger and use it like a tablet. One of the laptops wouldnt even turn on when it arrived and Amazon/Dell replaced it promptly. Weve had no problems with the replacement or the other two laptops. My reporters never used the feature where you use it like a tablet, but I did and it broke for no reason.

This is smaller than the computer I bought it to replace, but everything I try to look at is blurrier and looks worse, because it has to be resized from, I guess, iphone-size to the size of the actual screen. My old computer has a default scale of 100% and looks crisp and nice. This one has a default scale of 150% and gives me a headache to even look at, not to mention that at maximum brightness it is very noticeably dim, with a yellowish tint. Do not recommend for artists or people who enjoy looking at things. Update: within the first few sessions of use, Im already noticing an overheating problem.

I was utterly disappointed with this computer. Not even 3 months after i had purchased the computer, it started NOT recognizing the A/C cable plug in. I ended up sending it to Dell for repairs. I got it back almost a month later. At the end of the warranty, I started getting a bunch of emails to extend the warranty. Since I hardly use this laptop, and because it was working fine, I decided not to extend their warranty. Well guess what, as soon as the warranty expired, the on button no longer functions. I either have to pay for the repairs or pray that I can fix it myself. Neither one is a good proposition. This is not the first bad experience I have had with Dells. I dont recommend these computers at all.

I bought this laptop in December17. My laptop started having issues a very few months after purchase (its still in warranty for quite some time). The laptop kept powering off and then not starting back-on (or no display) despite several tries and showed random behavior (i had to reset the OS too, losing all my data). Ultimately there came a time when the laptop shut off with no LEDs turning on and the laptop would not power-on no matter what. I had to FedEX ship my product to their Houston site after making a long customer delivery call. I got back my laptop in a week (with the motherboard replaced). However, ever since, it has battery issues (ie. the battery drops from 50%+ to 6% within a minute) making it impossible to work with the laptop unless connected to a power source. I have never seen a Dell laptop to have misbehaved so much, it really hinders all your work.

The Bad: 1. This computer has serious heating problems. 2. a high noise of the fans. 3. The weight in relation to the size is not the most comfortable. The good: 1. good dimensions. 2 Materials of good quality. 3 Good performance. If they ask me if I would buy it again, the answer is NO, the high heating seems too much and at this time there is a laptop with this type of problem that seems unacceptable. Its a shame for Dell. I feel disappointed

I like the laptop. Light wt, touch screen is excellent with good resolution, super quiet, SDD is amazing ( first time owning one). Fast enough with me running photoshop 2017. Overall good laptop CONS : - plastic build, could have been more sturdy - camera is ok ok. although tbh, no one really uses it these days - fan vent is located facing down, cant keep on the bed or on lap.

This computer has been fairly easy to get up and running. I am replacing a very similar computer. For my purposes the 8MB of ram and 256 SSD are what I need now and should be sufficient for years of use. The touch screen works well. Here is my only complaint and I would say it qualifies as a design flaw. The speakers are underneath the computer, right where it would rest on your knees. So when you are using it as a laptop, the speakers are blocked and when you are using it as a tablet, they are blocked. Crazy! The last Dell Inspiron I had, the speakers were on top by the keyboard and it was a noticeably excellent sound system, so this is a bit of a disappointment, but wont keep me from using this for my real needs, only my wants.

So far I am liking almost everything about this laptop. Graphics are sharp and crisp, colors nice, the tablet mode is nice. All good. Tha only thing keeping me from giving it a 5 star rating at this point is the support from both Dell and Microsoft. I have an issue with the Laptop not synching with my mobile phone ( a highly touted and advertisied feature from both providers) when I contacted Support at MS to ask why the text link to connect the two devices was never received on my phone- they said it was a Dell issue. When I subsequently contacted Dell, they claimed it is a Windows 10 glitch. Both bailed on going any further to address this issue. Typical "Support" in this day and age? Pity...

Replaced my MacBook Pro with this a couple months ago, and so far Im in love with it! The 2-in-1 ability is something I use constantly since I commute to work and school, I would recommend buying a decent stylus pen though. Its fast and the graphics are good. If youre looking for a reliable school computer this is definite contender! Nothing too fancy, but definietely has its aw-factor. Battery life is the only thing thats a little lacking for me, but as long as you use energy saver mode youre good to go. Overall a great purchase and Id definitely recommend it!
