I have had this laptop for about 4 months now. I am a full time student, and as such I use this laptop for all of my school related activities, as well as gaming. When it comes to performance this laptop does very well, I am able to run Overwatch, Pubg, and other popular titles on high and ultra settings, while maintaining a solid 50-60 frames per second. The 256 GB SSD really sells this machine, with a quick start up and ability to multi-task incredibly well. The backlight on the keyboard is alright at best, it does the job however it will turn off after about a minute of not being used, which can be annoying at times however small complaint. I think the keyboard backlight would be better if it had a function to stay on for an unlimited period of time. The typing experience is average, I can type 60-70 wps no problem, however I will say it is worth investing in a separate keyboard if you are going to be using this on a desk. I find that when using the keyboard for gaming the large bezel at the bottom underneath the keyboard can dig into your wrists and can be uncomfortable after long periods of gaming. So to recap, performance wise this laptop excels very well in day to day use and gaming. Now, my more negative issues with the laptop. It is heavy. It isnt the heaviest gaming laptop, but when I am carrying this laptop in my backpack from class to class it definitely adds more weight than I would like, however I understand that is the cost for all the performance packed into this device. Moreover, there is no 1TB HHD inside of this laptop. This is a huge setback because if you are gaming the 256 GB SSD can run out of space very, very quickly. If you are interested in this laptop, I recommend upgrading the storage to a 1TB ssd, or simply adding another hard drive which luckily this laptop is capable of. The laptop can get fairly loud when gaming, so keep that in mind if you plan to play videogames in public with this device. With that being said, The cooling in this machine is much better than expected, I have played games for hours on end and never hit over 60 degrees celcius. Overall, this machine has done very well for the price. I have no issue playing any videogames or performing any other tasks as a full time college student. Definitely take into account the storage that is actually offered with this laptop, as well as the weight. Other than that it really is a great little machine and I recommend it if this is in your budget.

I like the laptop, however I find it misleading that the picture of the product shows a USB-C which is not available on the laptop that was delivered. So in a sense I didnt get the device that I was expecting, not sure how many stars to deduct for that.

My laptop has been locking up a couple times per day since I got it. Even when reset back to factory default with no new programs installed, I still see this happen. Dells support pages offered no solution and their customer service basically refuses to help at this point. Overall the laptop works fine, but the freezing problem combined with lack of tech support from Dell has made owning this laptop a headache from the day I got it.

Battery dies within an hour after minimal use. Mine is either defective, or this is a terrible problem - it just suddenly got worse. Cooling system is inadequate for gaming - you will have to undervolt. Otherwise great.

This is the first time I have left a review in order to let others know about this computer. I wanted to get back into PC gaming and I figured this PC would suit my needs. I made a mistake since it is constantly crashing, even with no programs running. I dont know if it is the Dell hardware since I get a no hard drive message when it crashes, or if it is Windows 10, which is absolutely horrid and Microsoft should be ashamed for even marketing Win10 with its bloatware, forced updating, and completely non-user friendly format. I have gone through the whole Dell support process and found it absolutely useless as Dell support says my PC is fine, and Microsoft support is absolutely non-existent unless one wants to post on a forum. As I said in the title, I bought an $800 brick. This review comes to you from my $200 Toshiba laptop that I have never had a problem with, but it is not a gamer.

I got the most basic dell g3 15 and i know its meant for gaming. However, I’m running revit, autocad, rhino, sketchup, photoshop, and 3D Max, which are architect programs that essentially are ment for designing, blueprints and rendering. The computer has not failed me yet and its been about 6 monhs. Look, rendering requires high performance and the dell g3 15 is doing the job just right. I highly recommend it to architects and for those who are looking for a cheap laptop that can do above average renderings.

Great laptop. Super fast and does everything I need it to. If youre on a budget and like to play games, or multitask frequently, this is a great option.
