This review is for an Asian i7 64 bit model with touch screen and speedy 1TB SSD instead of 515gb. Needed an ultralight for working and watching videos on seat back tray tables. Was tossed between the Dell 13 and Lenovo Yoga (which I was company issued to me), before buying the Asus ZenBook. Whats bettercscart_ Very light weight, high metal build quality, nice travel keyboard, bright and clear touch screen, USB 3-port dongle (with HDMI, USB, and DisplayPort connections), accurate touch pad and 2 button pen (like Wacom Bamboo), impressive Dolby sound, 2GB video card for smooth 4K upscaled playback, fast booting (less than 10 seconds), and no crapware. Note that Windows and some drivers will need updating. Expect that process to take 12 hours, although most of that time the install can be run unattended.

The computer worked well for about 10 months, then it started freezing and crashing. I called Microsoft (it was running windows 10), they identified the ASUS keyboard driver as the problem. But often the stop code was "WHEA_uncorrectable_error". I called ASUS about the problem, they offer repairs that take 2 weeks. Save yourself all the phone calls, fear of losing your data, and general misery and BUY SOMETHING ELSE.

UPDATE: After some more intense troubleshooting, I think I finally fixed the problem. If you are getting the "WHEA_Uncorrectable_Error", I would say that it is because your BIOS is out of date. I flashed (updated) my BIOS about 4 days ago and I havent had the error since, even while charging. To flash your BIOS and fix the error, you will have to download the most recent BIOS from the ASUS support website, and then flash your BIOS. This requires a little technical know how, but basically: 1. You will want to put the new BIOS file on a flash drive and keep the flash drive inserted into your laptop 2. You will then need to restart your computer. While it is booting up, hold down the f2 key (this is how to get into your BIOS) 3. you should then be able to go into your Advanced settings in the BIOS and find the EZ Flash Utility 4. start the EZ Flash Utility and find the BIOS file on your flash drive. Install it and hopefully that fixes it! BIOS updates are weird, because you will always have to manually do them (no automatic updates!), but also BIOS updates are especially dangerous. If your computer crashes or loses power in the middle of them, it can brick your laptop. I would highly recommend doing some research on flashing your BIOS before attempting it. Good Luck! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I loved this thing, I bought it when it initially came out. It was perfect for school, work, and the occasional gaming (Overwatch ran pretty well on decent settings). However Id say about 6-10 months later I would start getting a blue screen of death, more specifically a "WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR". This basically means there was a hardware error, not software. After this happened countless other times after trying countless things such as driver updates, windows updates, and other things I realized that the issue would usually only happen when I was on my laptop and it was charging. I hope that this information is helpful for anybody else experiencing the "WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR" issue, but for those looking to buy this laptop, I would recommend against it until they figure out whats going on with this model. I will admit, I havent reached out to customer support regarding the warranty on this product, getting a replacement, or general fixes for my current model, (mainly because I believe thats a huge pain that I shouldnt even have to deal with given how much money I paid for this product) but everything Ive read seems to imply that Im effectively screwed when it comes to the warranty. TL,DR : Great product for the first like 10 months and after that it just starts doing a "WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR" which effectively makes the product a waste of 1300 dollars.
