while I like asus etc, we found this only had 28G space of which windows itself took 15G. we were unable to run any programs due to this lack of space I dont fault anyone but these days a 256G is small since programs require so much space, so I;m baffled at this tiny drive But if you have no need for it, its fine

PROs: + Battery life (about 7-8 hours) + lite weight, handy + starts quickly + Windows 10s lets less malware in. CONs: - I’ve heard the 32GB SSD hard drive is not enough for a general use laptop; however, for my needs (web surfing, writing documents) it is perfect. - Getting use to Windows 10s application restrictions (can’t install regular versions of MS Office, need to buy the App version; also I can’y install my normal VPN software).

oh man, this thing is terrible. windows 10S is basically a microsoft captive app. you cant do anything with it. cant install anything. the built in apps and configuration are horrible and slow. tons of background processes slow the whole thing down, and for long periods lock the machine up while they do something like install 4 versions of candy crush. no lie. I will probably see if I can wipe the disc and put linux on this. -its basically a poor chromebook imitation done by microsoft, apparently to convince consumers to buy a better laptop with regular windows on it. the hardware seems pretty good, but the software is really the worst thing Ive ever seen.

This machine comes with windows 10S, which means that you will only be able to download apps from the Microsoft store. You can upgrade to windows pro for 199$ and use it like a regular computer. Please note that once downloaded, you will have to switch out of S mode through the Microsoft store before you can download other non Microsoft verified programs. I only gave 4 stars because its advertised as having windows 10 and says nothing about it being windows 10s.

So I worked at Best Buy for like a year as a computer sales rep. It was my job to figure out what machine worked to who based on the things they wanted to achieve. Having this laptop about a week in, I have to say this little thing is amazing. It has its response issues, its a Celeron. I didnt say it could do anything. You wont game or edit videos, youll struggle using photoshop or even playing Minecraft Im sure. But everyone could make use of a laptop like this. Its small, light, quick, the trackpad and keyboard are high quality (what you would expect from Asus). No one doesnt browse the internet or type things out, and for those things its perfect. Paired with the ability to upgrade the storage indefinitely with a micro SD card or use cloud storage? Super powerful machine for the price. For comparison, I also have a $1,500 ROG from 2018 and a MacBook Pro with the TouchBar, I have a few desktops, and ultimately I can still find use from this little guy. 10/10 would buy again. Actually, I might too.

Overall, its a great buy for the price. Windows 10, however, is a truly frustrating OS. It does everything in its power to keep you from running any application that is not made by them. it’s taken the entire afternoon trying to update and clear out the junk they preload that prevents loading simple apps like chrome. Next time I buy a PC, it won’t be windows. But the laptop is light, looks decent, has good wifi reception. Suits basic browsing needs. *****Update after a solid week of use****. The memory space is limiting. Don’t expect to be able to save anything on the pc directly or it willl cripple the speed of the computer to a snail’s pace. Everything willl have to be saved on a cloud platform, which then requires wifi to access in the future, so keep that in mind. This is my third or fourth ASUS and while you do get a good bang for the buck, they all seem to share a problem with their mousepads. The cursor either gets stuck, hops all over the screeen, or clicks/highlights everything when simply moving it. If you are going to purchase it, I would suggest picking up a decent mouse or you will find yourself quickly frustrated over the nonresponsiveness or hypersensitivity of the pad. I downgraded my review to 3 starts because of the memory and mousepad. Assuming you can work around those issues, then this is a good purchase for you

I first have to stress what this laptop is, and what it’s not! This laptop is meant to be used for simple apps (such as Microsoft word.), and internet browsing. This laptop isn’t meant for playing games, or for using intense apps such as adobe after effects. Now on to my review!!! I couldn’t be more happy with my purchase, I got this laptop for taking notes. The laptop runs smoothly, especially when you consider the specs. Now the Keyboard does feel a bit cheap, but that’s my only complaint. I’m impressed that this laptop has an hdmi port, along with two USB ports. I did a video stress test, and to my surprise it was able to render 4K resolution, however the video does stall and get choppy, but 1080 HD is all you need!!! I highly recommend this laptop if you are tight with a budget. You get a lot out of it, and for such a great deal!!!

I cannot believe there is a deal this good on earth. This was my saving grace in my last year of being a broke grad student with a broken laptop. It works incredibly well for the price. If you r looking for a high tech super fast efficient laptop then spend more money but if you are Looking for a small convenient size Laptop to do assignments on or need here and there this is the laptop for you. I just needed something to get my by and this goes beyond that. I cannot even begin to describe how well this computer works for its price. It’d also work great for anyone looking to get their high school kid their first Laptop. It has its ups and downs but it’s $150 laptop what do u expect? Not much and lemme tell u it has exceeded my expectations.
