I have been searching for two weeks for a laptop that main purpose to do presentation stuff, watching film and surfing on internet and it is perfect for students who dont want to play games on laptop. And on my opinion there is nothing like this laptop that has a good price/performance ratio. I bought the i5 8250 with 256 ssd version for my sister. It came in box that has lots of "free" space and they even didnt put a "airbag" to absorb impact but it came in good condition. Here are the pros and cons that i have been seen: Pros + Its realy fast because of the ssd + so quite when you are using it for little things like surfing. If you are using it for something bigger than the fan is making little sound but when it cooled to some level it stops immediately. Of course lack of hard drive is bigger portion of this quietness. + its great screen i love it. Especially the thin bezels make the screen look much bigger. It is doing that while let you believe it is smaller than a 156 laptop from looking outside. Asus used some magic here. + writing with keyboard feels good if you dont push too much. (Its bending inward) Cons -Why someone put on/off button near the delete button? I had to disable the shut down from button -WINDOWS 10 TAKES ABOUT 49GB SPACE. WHEN I OPENED FIRST TIME IT HAD 207GB FREE SPACE IN THE SSD -The keyboard back light could be more properly adjusted. You can see the backlight led between keys. -WHEN IT CAME IT HAS LITTLE BEVEL ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE KEYBOARD IT DIDNT DISTURB MY SISTER BUT IT DID ME. THATS WHY I CUT ONE STAR. -KEYBOARD BEND INSIDE WHEN YOU PUSHED LITTLE BIT. As I saw every new model Asus laptops have same problem. -The touchpad doesnt feel good. # ill edit if i found something good or bad.

Very good student/work laptop that features full 15.6 inch screen yet light. Powerful enough for mid-tier hefty productivity such as video editing and heavy compiling, and light gaming, but not for heavy gaming at all. I bought this laptop for work and it does everything I need well without any problems. You are also able to put in 8 more gb of RAM if you would like since theres a slot for it. Pros: - Very thin laptop that is easy to carry - Very good performance to price ratio - High quality build quality and material - Sleek design for professional looks - Silver-gold color that does not attract too much attention - Good screen and brightness - Good heat management Cons: - Does not come with any complimentary case - No Windows Hello capability - I use a wireless usb mouse, but the touchpad can be a little bit twitchy at times - Screen reflection indoors - No CAPSLOCK indication - Relatively short charging cords - Mediocre battery, but I do have a dedicated graphics card and 2 storage units.

This system is amazing, the speed is unmatched in both the processer capabilities and the download speed. The Nano edge display is the best quality laptop screen Ive experienced so far. Really an outstanding computer. The only reason it is not a five star is the Battery and charging system. Unlike my other laptops I cannot take the battery out myself, and the cable for charging is not a usb interchangeable one. the wall plugin is big, gets very hot when its both charging the battery and in use at the same time, and as well the battery use alone will not even last six hours of normal use much less 8 as stated, and I have no apps at all on this system and even deleted the ones that came with it so I have no excess internal use. In anycase I am happy with the purchase and will even look to buy another if possible

I bought this laptop to use for editing video, performing normal office tasks (email and writing code) and video encoding (handbrake) - it does the latter fairly well but the former not so much. I cant knock a star off for that because the lower power i7 doesnt seem to be the right CPU to use for video editing, my expectations were just too high. What I am taking a star off for is really two things: poor quality and volume of the audio system and the lackluster battery life. Ive used the laptop for a couple hours this morning, mostly watching YT videos, and its down to 44%, which is a far cry from the supposed "Full workday freedom" that is claimed right here on a sticker on the laptop. If you read the reviews though, youll see this is a common thread and a noted weakness of the model, so it was fighting an uphill battle from the start. The speakers are pretty terrible, both in terms of volume and quality - and Im not expecting MacBook Pro type of sound either. But even with the machine volume at 100% AND YT volume at 100% I could not hear the laptop above my kids playing quietly with their toys. I know that sounds unrealistic but its quite true. If youre going to hook these up to some external speakers then its a non-issue. Ill be returning mine, but if your needs are lighter than mine then youll be fine. We use Dell machines with the same internals at work all day long and they are great for working spreadsheets, writing code and heavy office usage. Just keep it to those things and youll be happy. As long as you use external speakers, or headphones and keep this plugged in or use it sparingly with the battery youll probably be fine.

Good for day to day use and a bit of gaming. Only con is it needs to handled with care and the display wobbles a bit whenever u open the laptop

Nice laptop. Fast start (especially after unchecking the fade options (found in: " Control Panel / Performance Information and Tools / Adjust visual effects"). Finger print feature is quirky but once you get it to recognize it, it goes to the desktop lightning fast. I DONT like the keyboard. Im a typist and like a firm keyboard while typing. I noticed that while typing the keyboard has some "give". Also, I wish the keys were not so flat.... Im use to feeling some height and mild key pressure while typing, not so with this keyboard. It does not have a lot of bloatware. I uninstalled the trial Microsoft Office software and installed my own MS Office 2007; installed flawlessly (you will need an external DVD drive). Another change I made to Windows is changing the fade when clicking to other documents. This fade feature in Windows is an annoyance for me; I like to instantly get to my documents when I click, so I changed the settings from "fade" (uncheck the option to fade screens) - you get a much faster response this way. I like the FREE computer games and other stuff that the Microsoft App Store offers (app pre-installed) . This is my first Windows 10; I like it, (they returned the "Start" button) (I hated Windows 8). Even though this machine has a SSD drive, I still hear something like a fan blowing (maybe its a fan for the cooling?).

I quite like this laptop. My laptop that I upgraded from win8 to win10 had a defective hard drive, and rather than going through the process all over again (I didnt get a chance to create installation media before I had to revert it), I decided to get something new. Its a slick laptop that has the appearance of a macbook. Ive seen reviews describing the color as more silver than gold and yeah, that would be correct. In the light it definitely has a gold tint but otherwise its very brushed silver. No CD drive, so Ill unfortunately have to purchase an external, but its lightweight and compact - it goes into my luggage easily when I travel. Keyboard is super nice with chicklet-style keys that are easy to handle. Booting is SUPER fast and I love the Windows Hello feature to sign in - although you really do have to work to train the computer to recognize your fingers. It takes awhile to get used to but I find it to be a really nice addition. Im very happy about the SSD drive, since my past computers have been HDDs. However, Im not sure if the SSD drive is making a sound or if theres a fan, but theres DEFINITELY a noise coming from this computer. It sounds like a drive or a fan constantly restarting. I cant describe the sound but you can definitely hear it and its noticeable. It sounds like a drive constantly booting up and restarting. Or it might be the fan. Im not sure if its something to worry about, but I will keep an eye on it. Other than that, the display is not fantastic. The screen is very nice, but Im an artist and I draw with a tablet, and I find the colors to be lighter than they actually are when I save my work and export it. Also, Ive had to squint at the screen/tilt the screen to see what Im looking at. Might just be my bad eyes, though. Anyway, Im happy with this computer. Asus has made a ton of improvements since the last two laptops Ive had from them, both in software and hardware (my other two laptops came with Windows 8 - Windows 10 is a vast improvement). I recommend this laptop if youre looking for something more involved for a good price.

This is a really great laptop for the price, and just in general. Ive had it for about a month and so far the only things Im bothered by are the fact that the battery doesnt last as long as its stated when not plugged in, but does charge up pretty fast. And I saw other people have said this as well, and its true, the speakers do suck. The sound itself isnt terrible but its just so low. Full volume is super quiet and thats annoying as a musician and tv watcher. But Id say the pros outweigh the cons. Its a super fast machine, starts up pretty much instantly. I dont use a lot of heavy software, but I do have things like FL studio and that runs fine. The display is nice, but sometimes reds and oranges and pinks show up a little pixely. Dont know what thats about. But nothing too obvious. Maybe its just me. The fingerprint sensor is alright. Id say its just a cool extra feature. Sometimes it takes awhile to read but when it does youre signed in instantly. The laptop itself doesnt make any noise and doesnt overheat either. Its very light and looks really professional and sleek. Im kinda in love with it. It has just enough space for my needs, doesnt lag, and has a nice display. Some people were complaining about the keyboard but I like it. Feels fine to me. Even thought the laptop is light, it still feels sturdy. Overall, Im very pleased with my purchase. I hope this one lasts me awhile.
