The computer I got from Asus via Amazon has never workded. I took it to the Asus Repair center. They replaced the battery. This took a month. As a result the time to request a replacement from Amazon ran out because of Asus taking so long to replace the battery. The battery had been replaced but the computer still does not turn on after having sat turned off for three days. I returned to the repair center today. No service techs are at work because it is the day after xmas. I need a working computer by January 2. It looks like Asus will not just give me a new computer. So, Learn my lesson. If you bought your computer through Amazon. Have Amazon replace it. I am now stuck with a computer that does not work.

I just got this so I can work on the road and also be able to play some games. So far its been great. The screen is crisp and clear, they keyboard is very easy to get used to. I also love the mouse that came with it. I did have to manually update it to the Windows 10 Anniversary edition, which you should do because it helps iron out a bunch of bugs in the original Windows 10. But once I got that set up I got everything configured how I wanted to. To play Forza Horizon 4 online I had to uninstall the GameFirst app that came with it. I think theres a way to configure it so itll work nicely but I didnt want to deal with it. If anything goes wrong Ill be sure to update this post. So far I love it though! Nice and sleek, Light and quiet.

I love almost everything about this computer. It runs drafting software no problem and does everything that I need. But I have 3 minor complaints. -The trackpad isnt the greatest (but I use a mouse most of the time I am doing things other than online stuff) -The end key requires you turning off the num lock (this is my biggest complaint because I create documents with numbers so having to choose one or go back and forth is pretty annoying) -No CD drive so if I need to rip a CD to FLAC I have to do it on my desktop (but most people just use MP3 so this wont be an issue)

I use a gaming laptop as my work laptop too. Im a writer, and I also do audio and video recording and editing. Then once Im off the clock, Im a long-time gamer. This beauty handles all of these with amazing aplomb. The keyboard is fast and smooth, the screen is beautiful, and the six cores and 16GB ram mean that even with lots of VSTs running, my performance is rock solid. Battery life isnt great, but its a gaming laptop: thats not odd.

I bought two of these and so far the users have had absolutely no complaints. They are using them to play online games and general usage. Doom is on one of them no problems. The users report display is decent for the price. I have 1050 ti on desktop and run Adobe programs, this card handles fine. So what do you get? ASUS build quality and assets of ASUS mobo. ASUS gaming expertise with few corners cut. I would have given this 5 stars from my user reports but was really disappointed with the micro sized ssd drive. They dont cost that much. Defeats the purpose of ssd to have mechanical disk drive. I had delivery problem that was taken care of and have no problem with dealer. Why I am praying they dont break down is that ASUS support is beyond horrible. If you have issue and eventually you will, they toss you from person to person like a pinball where you start your case from the beginning. <EDIT> Its a bad plan you dont want to deal with. I have nightmare stories with them and I hate giving ASUS $$$. My users wanted this system and it met price point that day but never as good as my 2 Alienware.

Looks good and works well for gaming. The biggest problem i have is the power button. I have to push it 3 times every time to get it to turn on. The power supply plug in is flimsy at best. it doesnt seem to plug in all the way. If i move my computer at all i better be checking it because it will come undone. And the ether-net cable is far too close to the power supply plug in. I owned a Asus prior to this one and it was the best for 5 years. Was built like a tank! This one is ok. I would never take this one on the road like i did the other one. I realize this is not a top of the line Asus, but i still expected better.

Great bang for the buck, I went with the 1050 ti model since I mostly only play competitive games (LoL, Overwatch, CS:GO) and was more interested in the high refresh monitor and 8th gen CPU. I was blown back by how powerful even my model is and how enjoyable it is to use, Im getting 120-150 fps in DOOM on ultra for reference. I used to own the Razer Blade 14 and this laptop is a breath of fresh air. The fans are powerful but dont get too loud (razer blade fans were like a jet engine), I havent seen the gpu pass 80C even at full load, and the build feels premium even with the plastic bottom. 10/10 Im very happy with this purchase, I feel I got exactly what I was advertised.

Opened on Christmas day, monitor dead: where is your quality control, ASUS? Too busy filling orders to bother checking, or too big to care? I may or may not revise this review based on the replacement we receive.

I was shopping around for a new laptop for a while before I bought this one. Im really happy with what I got for the cost of it. It runs games smoothly, even when Im multitasking, and is more than powerful enough for my schoolwork. I havent had any hardware issues with it yet, which is great, because Im cursed with hard drives. Speaking of drives, the SSD boot drive makes booting up SUPER fast. Also, it has programmable keyboard lights, which are really cute. Makes me feel fancy! This is a heavy computer for its size, by the way, which for the price is expected. I took a star off for the battery life because it feels sort of short, but I could probably tweak the performance settings and get WAY more life out of it if I made an effort. YMMV

This laptop is great for mid to mid-high level gaming. Graphics are decent, speed is decent, load time is decent. Plays GTA Online with almost no issues. Videos look great. The problems with this laptop are that sound will not play at all with hp plugged in, or with a phone plugged in via USB to charge. It also will not maintain an Ethernet connection once powered down or after a restart. I might occasionally get lucky and not have to restart my modem first thing in the morning when powering on this laptop, but usually I have to restart my modem between 2 and 5 times to get this laptop to fully load webpages or log into games. Ive run all kinds of troubleshooters and diagnosis, and I contacted Amazon tech support, but after a few basic questions it was suggested it may be defective and to return the laptop. To avoid further hassle I decided that was the best course of action. The laptop also runs extremely hot, especially in games such as GTA Online, even with a chill pad. Overall Im really disappointed because I actually love this laptop and the level of gaming I can achieve with this mid-price laptop, and I really dont want to have to return it.
