The same day I got this laptop it started crashing on me, giving an error "Driver Power State Failure". After checks, I found out it had nothing to do with the drivers but was actually faulty hardware. Youd expect that if youre paying this much for a laptop that theyd at least ensure it is problem free. Called Acer and they had me doing all sort of foolish tests on the laptop and when nothing worked they said Id have to send it in for repair, they do not do refunds or replacements unless they cant repair. I dont know about anyone else, but this is crappy service. So I found out that Amazon had their own special technical support for when you purchase a laptop. I called Amazon and the guy who talked with me immediately said no no youre laptop has to be replaced. He understood the seriousness of my issue and knew from the start that it could not be fixed and that I needed a replacement and not a repair. My replacement is on the way now. I will update this review from 1 star, after receiving the replacement, if I find no fault with it. Update 03/14/2019: I received the replacement one week ago and started using it immediately. Between then and now it has started to overheat at random intervals. Temperature goes over 60 degrees Celsius for silly reasons like just opening the browser, or initiating a copy and paste on a flashdrive, etc. The mouse has started giving trouble, freezing at random intervals. The battery doesnt last me more than 5 hours if that long. On average it lasts between 3-4 hours on light usage. The worst issue yet is the fact that it takes over 1 minute to go into sleep, and to shut off, and whenever I leave it for more than 5 mins the screen light goes off and refuses to come back on. This is the worst laptop Ive ever bought. I reached out to Amazon for a refund and will be returning it asap! I understand the first one I got having factory fault, but this one has even more issues than the one before. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO BUY AN ACER SWIFT 3 LAPTOP AND IVE LOST FAITH IN ACER ENTIRELY!!!

very happy with this laptop. great 1080p screen, very fast processor and great graphics without a discrete card. i have not found anything that i dont like about it about it does everything i want in a laptop as it is lightweight, very quiet and stays cool. it is even the same price as the Acer 8250U model and blows it away when it comes to graphical capabilities. i would very highly recommend it to anyone wanting a good all purpose laptop including light gaming.

I absolutely love this machine, Acer Swift 3 SF315-41G-R6MP - for the price, the build quality and specs are impeccable. I dont see anywhere else I can get as good a deal as this one. But I returned it. If you dont care about the three small things that Im writing about here, you are in good luck and you should DEFINITELY buy it! I was pretty bummed that I had to return it. Id say this is a break-up note AND a love letter to Acer with a "its not you its me". 1) Gorgeous and Expensive Corning Gorilla Screen - its so beautiful but it hurts my eyes with reflection - I wish Im not so wimpy. For the price the screen is tremendous value but ..... 2) Coil Whine - Its obvious and gives me instant headache. But some people dont even hear it.....so. Maybe the one you receive does not have coil whine at all. Its pure luck thats what I heard. 3) HDMI port is 1.4 NOT 2.0. I called Acer to have this confirmed. From my experience, if a seller does NOT list the kind of HDMI on a certain model, Im sure its only HDMI 1.4. Even expensive models nowadays still give people HDMI 1.4a or 1.4b. The difference is that when you connect the laptop to an external 4K monitor, you can see that HDMI 1.4a or 1.4b only supports up to 30Hz, while HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort 1.4 supports at least 4K@60Hz. If you are doing video editing or even just light gaming, you can feel the eye strain between a 4K@30Hz and a 4K@60Hz. Although this laptop has a decent discreet graphics card (Radeon 540), I do not get to enjoy the good graphics on an external monitor due to the bottle neck of a HDMI 1.4 port. But if you only use the machine without external monitors, or use it only with low spec external monitors, and do not care about glare from the screen or coil whine from the machine, this is definitely a terrific value with good looks.

Im pretty happy with the performance of the SSD, RAM and Processor, but the WIFI module cuts out. When it cuts out, the laptop acts as if it doesnt have the wifi adapter. Checking the device manager, I see the adapter and it doesnt report any problems. Rebooting doesnt always work. I now have to go through ACER to see about replacing something. Checking online revealed that Im not the first with this problem. I went through the suggestions online, changing the sleep settings on the wifi module as well as bumping up the laptop into power user mode so it doesnt try and save electricity by shutting things down. Nothing worked.

After 2 months I find this to be a very good notebook. Performance is solid, excellent stability. Build construction is very good and the sleek/thin look are excellent. Great performing touchpad and keyboard. Some reviews complained of the sharp edges of the body affecting wrists but I dont find this to be a problem at all. The area below the keyboard is wide enough that my palms dont sit on the edge. I mostly use this plugged in so I cant comment much on battery life.

BOUGHT THIS COMPUTER RIGHT AROUND CHRISTMAS. OF COURSE EVERYONE IS LOOKING FOR BARGAINS. THIS COMPUTER WAS MARKED DOWN FROM $800 TO $650. OF COURSE, ITS NEVER BEEN LISTED FOR $800 SINCE. I FEEL LIKE THEY ARTIFICIALLY RAISE THE PRICE TO MAKE YOU THINK YOU GOT A DEAL.

The things the other reviewers have said are true. The laptop is fast, well-made, and seems durable enough. The specs should be enough for a casual to moderate user. And its true that the screen is nice. However, I have been having a bit of trouble with sound. I tried updating, uninstalling and reinstalling, and tweaking the settings for the sound card, but I am still getting a bit of a crackle/pop here and there. It does not seem to be connected to CPU usage, and is an issue when watching videos and movies, and when playing music. My hunch is that they used a low-budget sound device and these are the consequences. My other gripe is that the battery life is significantly shorter than advertised. I have not gotten more than four hours out of this laptop since purchasing it a month ago.

This is a good looking home to class or note taking laptop. Short on battery life is gaming, but for my purposes, perfect

Was not looking for monster LTop, this is a decent performer for all but gaming, battery seems inconsistent in life after full charge, sometimes 5 hours other times 8hrs. Think is has something to do with background processes & Win10, wish there was more control of BIOS and deleting items not needed.
