The listing of this item (C720) says it "looks and works like new." Not even close... there are scuffs everywhere. It seems to work OK. I bought it from Blazing Prices. I would suggest you steer clear, unless you are ok with a beat up item. The top isnt even original. I have another C720, and it says Acer on top. This may be some generic replacement screen. I may have to return it.

Based on other reviews I was worried about purchasing this but now that I have it I’m so glad I didn’t let those reviews influence my decision! It’s in great condition, connected to WiFi very quickly, it’s not slow & everything works. I haven’t been able to test the battery life just yet but regardless, for this price it’s a great purchase & gets the job done.

Im all for a bargain and dont mind a few blemishes, but this chromebook was in horrible shape - lots and lots of scratches and dings - I didnt even photograph all of them. One of the keys was completely off. This was completely unacceptable and it went right back.

I needed a portable computer to replace a 6 year old acer that was in disrepair but was unsure of getting a Chromebook. I considered an HP 11, Acer C720 and Toshiba. With each additional piece of information I visited my Best Buy to get a sense of how each one would provide the functionality. For me the deciding factor was the two-fold - 4gb ram and a relatively low price. I also had to feel comfortable with the fact that this is a refurbished laptop and I didnt know what impact that would have in the long run. It has been a month now and I am happy with the purchase. I cannot say for sure whether 4 gb allows me to do more but I can tell you that I have never worried about how many tabs I had open or doing anything else with the Chromebook. So it works for me.

This is perfect for what I need it for and you cant beat the price it was worth every penny. It holds a great charge, Minor scrapes or scratchesI theres nothing wrong with a screen, nothing wrong with the buttons, nothing wrong with the speed. I have no complaints for what I paid for this.

*Update: more keys stopped working and i sent it back with a full refund. I mainly needed this for school and to use google Docs. Worked great for those things. The shift key seems to have aome problems so im more annoyed with that than all the problems on the outside. Its a complete mess on the outside. Broken pieces include part of a vent, one of the usb ports, and crumbs? Shoved into the HDMI port. Thankfully i really do not need these to do my work. Called amazon and got a partial refund and keeping the computer.

After a few hours working with this refurbished C720, Im generallly happy with my purchase. It is pretty much what I expected of a laptop for $209 and for what I plan to do with it, its good enough. Despite being a factory refurbished model, it looks and feels brand new. I couldnt find any evidence of wear and tear. The keyboard isnt perfect, but certainly usable -- it feels cheap, but not crappy cheap. The case is somewhat flimsy -- when you lift it from the bottom while the fan is running, the bottom of the case comes into contact with the spinning fan -- knowing that is an issue, Ill take care not to do it again. Despite the caveat that redeeming the 100GB of Google might not work, I was pleasantly surpised that I was given a whole TERABYTE for two years! Yes I said a TERABYTE!!!

This is a great replacement for my other, full laptop for a good price. Its lightweight, and very minimalist, which I personally like since I dont need to do much other than get on the internet and occasionally use the Google Drive, BUT the fan is so LOUD! I jokingly call it my jet engine. I shut it down every time Im not using it because the fan is so ridiculous. Might be worth looking at another option that doesnt have such fan issues.

This is an amazing little machine. Even more amazing as a Linux laptop. I purchased refurbished on Amazon and I have to say, it was worth every penny! Item is in excellent condition, came in a plain box with the charger. No additional documentation or waste, very minimal packaging. Nothing unexpected. Good stuff. I have a confession to make; I used to avoid Celeron processors like the plague. The 2955U Intel Haswell processor used here is quite speedy and has changed my view on Celerons completely. You will not be disappointed. Day-to-day performance has been excellent; this can play 1080P HD video and multitask without any hiccups. Forget ARM processors (too slow), forget the Core i3 model (offers minor improvement); this is where its at. The 4GB of RAM I feel definitely kicks it up a notch and helps any overall operating system handle better. The SSD is fast and very responsive, even for a small size of 16GB. After repartitioning for a Linux install, I had around 4GB to play around with after installing all of my essentials, even after including updates. For any of those who are wondering, the SSD is upgradable, but the RAM is soldered in. This laptop is great on power / battery life, and has never gotten warm except when charging under intensive use; very lap friendly. WiFi and Bluetooth are great and have had no problems. The 720p webcam is good as well and the design is simple and stylish in grey. Easy to take apart and put back together, as it uses standard screws, all of which are located on the bottom of the unit itself. Minor gripes. The screen is subpar and isnt the sharpest or best quality. Its got a bright backlight, but the color representation is not as saturated. Another thing is that the keyboard feels kinda plastic / cheap in my opinion. It feels lighter than usual to me, but thats pretty much it. Not really much to complain about, that I wont even take away a star. Overall, this is an amazing little machine for the price. Chrome OS is pretty basic, as to be expected. However, Ive purchased with the exclusive purpose of installing Linux in mind. Linux has now opened up a world of possibilities with using this device, including using Skype! If youre thinking about purchasing this to hack and put Linux on it, I would highly recommend the 4GB RAM option to anyone. This is one of the best selling Chromebooks for a reason, and it definitely gets the job done. Its the best bang for the buck that you can find around these price ranges. Overall the device feels solidly put together and Im very happy with the direction that Acer went with this.
